John walked through his apartment door, taking off his coat and hanging it on the coat rack that hung on the wall beside the door. "John? Is that you?" Lafayette said from the kitchen. John nodded and walked that way. "Yeah. What are you making?" He asked, seeing the oven on. "Muffins." Lafayette said.

"So..." John started, sitting on one of their bar stores. They didn't have a kitchen table since it was just the two of them and the apartment was too small to have one comfortably. "Who was that lady you were getting so close with last night?" He asked, raising a brow as Lafayette made John a cup of coffee.

Lafayette rolled his eyes, a nice smile on his face. "Her name is Adrienne. She's very sweet. She's French as well, though she isn't fluent in the language. She moved here when she was two. And she's hot as hell." He said, handing John a cup of coffee, made just the way he liked it. John gave Lafayette a smirk. "So you actually may like someone? That's a first." He said with a small laugh, taking the coffee mug Lafayette was handing him.

Lafayette rolled his eyes. "Ah, yes. Now time for you to settle." He said as the oven dinged, meaning his muffins were done. "Hey, I would settle for you if you were more gay." He said, jokingly, of course. They both knew they weren't into each other like that. They were just friends. "Oh, I'm sorry, ami, but it took you too long to love me. I just got over you." He said, over acting it as he took the muffins from the oven and set them on a placed hand towel on the counter.

John shook his head, looking down. "How ever will I deal with this heartbreak." He swooned. Lafayette gave a laugh. "Now who were you with last night?" He asked, knowing he probably slept with one of his coworkers. He needed to know who to avoid. "His name was Alexander. He was weird. Was shocked when I asked for money. Then after, asked for a date." John said, fake gagging after.

John took a sip to his coffee and Lafayette gave a hum. "Alexander is sweet. And very intelligent." He said, taking a muffin out and putting it on a small plate before handing it to John. John shrugged. "Maybe he is but I don't settle." He mumbled, taking a piece of the muffin Lafayette put in front of him. "Oui, I know, but don't you think it would be nice to date someone." Lafayette said.

John shook his head. "Ew, no," he muttered, even if he liked the idea. He just didn't want to settle because when you settle, you open up, and John didn't want to open up. "Relationships aren't my thing. I've never had one and I don't care to." He said, drinking some more of his coffee. Lafayette sighed. "But wouldn't it be nice..." he mumbled, eating a muffin now.

John shrugged. "Maybe it's nice for someone like you but I'm happy with what I'm doing. I don't need a boyfriend to change that." He lied, pushing the half eaten muffin away. "Woah, is the muffin really that bad, ami?" Lafayette asked, obviously joking. John nodded. "Taste like it was made with rat poison instead of sugar." He joked, drinking more of his coffee. Lafayette rolled his eyes. "Asshole.." he muttered, lovingly, of course.

John laughed a bit. "No, but I'm watching my figure. Gotta stay slim for the job." He shrugged. Lafayette sighed. John was almost always watching his figure, even if he was small. "Again? John, you already hardly gain weight." He mumbled. John sighed. "Oh, but duty calls." He said. Lafayette frowned but nodded.

"Are you going to be home tonight?" Lafayette asked. John shrugged. "Probably not. Saturday's are busy and sometimes people will pay extra." He said, tracing the top of the coffee mug. Lafayette nodded. "Ah, yes. I know. Do you want me to leave you out some food for when you get home?" He asked, finishing his muffin and putting the rest of the ones not eating in the desert tray they had on the counter.

John shook his head. "No, I'll just get something in my way home." He said. Lafayette nodded a bit, finishing the muffins and putting the cooking tray in the sink. "Well, I'm going on a date Friday and I may take her here afterwards. Just a heads up." He said.
