Sorry !! It's been a hot minute.
John unlocked the apartment, Hercules standing behind him. "You live in a very nice side of town own." He mumbled as John opened the door. John laughed a bit and nodded. "Yeah, just because of Marquis. I was evicted so he let me move in." He mumbled, shrugging as he took of his coat. Hercules nodded and followed John inside.
Lafayette smiled from the couch when he heard the door open. He was currently reading a book about schizophrenia. Psychology was pretty interesting to him but not enough to pursue a career in it. He loved what he did and was happy. "Hey, John. I'm assuming this is Hercules?" He asked, putting his bookmark in the book and shutting in it, setting it on the coffee table before standing up.
John nodded. "Mhm. Hercules, this is Lafayette, Lafayette, this is Hercules." He said, moving out of the way. Lafayette went and shook Hercules's hand, who shook his as well. "Nice to meet you. John's told me much about you." Hercules said. "Wonderful! I hope nothing too bad?" He asked, moving and shutting the apartment door. Hercules shook his head. "Oh, no. Of course not." He smiled.
John moved to the kitchen, making some tea on their kettle. He didn't feel like coffee that morning. Lafayette and Hercules moves to the couch. "What do you do for a living?" Lafayette asked Hercules, genuinely curious. He was sure John had told him but he honestly couldn't remember. "I'm a tailor. It doesn't pay a lot but it's alright." He mumbled.
"Really? Would you mind tailoring some suits for moi?" Lafayette asked. He had a couple of new suits he had bought for work that were too short. He was long so normally his pants would end up that way. Hercules nodded. "Oh, for sure! Just drop them at my apartment and I'll measure them up and fix it for you!" He said, quickly, just happy to have someone want his business. Lafayette nodded. "Great! Merci, mon ami." He said as John came in with a coupe of tea and sat in the recliner.
"Oh, John, you're so rude. Why wouldn't you get me, your favorite person, a tea as well?" Lafayette asked, jokingly, putting a hand over his chest. John shrugged. "You got legs." He mumbled, giving a fake smile to play along with their game. Lafayette rolled his eyes. "See how rude he is? Literally a snake. sssss." He told Hercules who laughed.
The two continued to banter back and forth and Hercules was taking note of how different John was when with Lafayette than when he was with him. He didn't mind, knowing the two were probably much closer than he and John were. "How long have you two known each other?" He asked after a moment. "Almost three years." John answered, getting a nod from Lafayette. "And how long have you been dating?" He asked.
The two other men laughed and shook their heads. "Non, we aren't dating." Lafayette chuckled. "Oh..." Hercules mumbled by embarrassment. He knew John didn't settle but because of how the two talked back and forth, he assumed they were together. "We're just friends. I'm talking to a girl right now." Lafayette said, smiling a bit. John groaned. "Yeah, we know. It's all you've talked about the last two days." He said, joking.
Hercules laughed as Lafayette stuck his tongue out. The three continued to talk for the rest of the morning, Lafayette and Hercules fairly enjoying each other's company, which made John happy. He hoped Lafayette would be able to introduce Hercules to someone, knowing he was lonely, as proven by the night before.
Hercules left after a while, after giving Lafayette his number so they could communicate on tailoring his suits. John moves onto the couch after he left, sighing. "What did you think?" He asked for playing with the tips of his fingernails. "He's sweet. Like really sweet. He seems like the type who loves hard too." He mumbled, picking back up his book and opening it on the page with the book mark.
John nodded. "He is and he does. I feel bad for him. He deserves an amazing partner." He mumbled. "Then why haven't you started dating him, John?" Lafayette asked, cocking an eyebrow. This time it wasn't a playful conversation, it was a genuine question. John frowned. "I wouldn't be good enough for him. And we've been over this, I don't do relationships..." he mumbled. Lafayette sighed. "I think you and him would be very nice together." He said. John shook his head. "I'm not into him like that. And even if I was, I wouldn't because I'm a hot mess and I don't want to ruin him." He muttered. "I'm taking a shower." He said after, standing up. Lafayette frowned. "Alright." He sighed, going back to reading his book as John left.
