Chapter 22

Haley's P.O.V

As Adam and I sat on the couch, my phone suddenly started ringing, so I reached to answer it. ''Hello?'' ''Haley.. Levi and I.. we made up!'', Jamie squealed. ''Really?! That's awesome! Where are you? This calls for a celebration!'', I smiled. ''I'm at home.. Wanna meet at Salsarita's at 6?''. she asks. ''Sounds good'', I replied, ''See you then.'' ''Bye'', she said, and I hung up.

Adam looked at me, ''Who was it?'' A grin spread across my face, ''It was Jamie. Her and Levi made up.'' ''That's great!'', he says. ''I know'', I nodded, and sat back down, letting his arm drape around my shoulder. ''Only thing's left is the wedding'', he said. ''You think so?'', I asked. He shrugged, ''Maybe.''

A Few Hours Later..

As I walked into Salsarita's, Jamie ran up and greeted me with a hug. When we got our table, we sat down and ordered our drinks. ''Okay. Details. Tell me everything'', I said. She laughed, ''Well.. I was just.. throwing up and next thing I know, I'm in Levi's arms and he's apologizing.'' I nodded, waiting for her to say something else, and she did. ''He brought me flowers'', she said, ''And then I knew I was a goner.. I mean, he remembered my favorites and everything.'' ''That's sweet'', I said. ''Yeah.. And now.. I don't feel alone anymore. I feel like I can do this whole 'mom' thing.'' I smiled, truly happy for her, and we waited a little more before our drinks and meals got to the table.

"Do you think Levi will propose?", Jamie asked, munching on her tortilla chips. I shrugged, "Maybe.. Probably. And if he does, then what?" "I'll say yes, of course! Then, maybe we could go to Vegas or something and get married. You know, the quick ones?", she says. I nodded, "Well, sounds like a good idea to me!" "Great! So.. How are you and your man?", she asked, wiggling her eyebrows. "Fine, why?", I laughed. "Oh, don't tell me.. You had sex with him, didn't you?" I felt my cheeks burning red, "Maybe.." "Details! I must know", she says eagerly. "Jamie! You're crazy." She laughs, "I know, I know. I'm proud of it too! Now that Levi and I are back together, it feels like the pieces of the puzzle are all in the right place. Ever had that feeling?" I took a sip of my drink, "I guess so." "Alright, hurry up and eat, because I want to go shopping! I'm gonna be gaining weight, and I wanna be prepared." I rolled my eyes with a laugh, and began eating my meal.

After another 2 hours or so, Jamie and I left the mall carrying 3 bags on each arm. It was crazy how they had all of her stuff in them, except for some nail polish I'd bought for Emily. After stuffing all of the bags into the trunk, we both got in the car and she drove down the road.

"We should do this more often, don't you think?", I asked. She nodded, "Yeah. It was nice to have some time together, especially now that I'm not sad anymore." We talked a little longer, and then she pulled into my driveway. I reached over and hugged her, saying goodbye, and I got out and went inside.

As I sat down my purse, I took off my shoes and carried them up the stairs with me. I stopped at my doorway to see Adam laying on the bed, doing something on his lap top. "Oh, hey", he said, noticing I was there, "How'd it go?" "Good", I said, "She's back to her crazy old self." He smiled and shut his computer. Getting off the bed, he came over and stood in front of me. I immediately wrapped my arms around him, hugging him gently. His hand brushed against my hair, and he leaned down and kissed my head. I smiled and let my lips go into his. It was just a short kiss, but it was enough to give me butterflies. Adam always had that affect on me for some reason.

While we laid in bed later that night, I couldn't sleep at all, so I was laying there on my phone. Adam had his arm draped across my waist, snoring slightly. I looked over, feeling a smile curve my lips, and I kissed him gently. ''Hmm?'', he grunted sleepily before falling back asleep. Finally, after another few minutes, I got tired enough to fall asleep.
