"Remember I told you once my leg was better I'd take you out?" I put on my shirt as she watched me through the mirror. She was zoned out, almost like she was drooling.

"Janet!"

"I'm sorry Uh- what were you saying."

"Nothing. Come on, we got all night."

"You might have all night but I have til 12."

"Well if you didn't notice me and your mothers shirt conversation while you and Latoya shared words she told me bring her home safely in the morning."

"But I don't have any clothes here or—."

"Check the room next to mines." She walked in coming out quickly.

"I can't—."

"Looks it's for nights where we spend them unknowingly."

"You know you're—."

"Ready to go, let's go."

"Fine." I grabbed her head dragging her out the door as I locked up.

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see." I shrugged opening up the door for her.

"The perfect gentleman huh?" She teased

" don't get funny old man." Closing the door I got in.

"Janet I know you been everywhere but have you tried glow in the dark laser tag? I always wanted to try it I just never had anyone to go with me."

"Sounds fun, lets do it." I drove there being it was about 10 minutes away and inside the mall. We went, got suited up and began. Janet was pissy cause we wasn't on the same team and I had to show her, but most definitely I was gonna save her for last. Well I thought....

"Hey Toni, I'm actually starting to like this. I got half your people anyway and there's only two of you left. I love the odds don't you." She doing all this damn talking and the other dude got her.

"You know what ion care." I laughed at her as we got up and the game was over.

"Had fun?" We were now returning the equipment.

"Yea, thank you. Where we going next."

"Your welcome and wherever you wanna go." I grabbed her hand as we started to walk around.

"Toni could I ask have you been in a relationship before?"

"No I haven't, I was a preachers kid until I moved out my moms house recently. If you're wondering if this whole lesbian thing is new for me it is, but I know what I want and that's you. If you're wondering if I'd go back to guys, the answer no, I've been scarred for life by segment from my younger years never will I ever turn for the likes of a man." There was a lot she didn't know bout me, a lot I didn't want to share but I knew if she'd ask I'd tell.

"I don't wanna ask what because I can tell you don't want to talk about it and i believe all of what you just said. This whole girl on girl thing is new to me too and if it isn't to soon I'd like to say that I'm glad my first would be you."

"I appreciate that really." I squeezed her hand looking at her as we walked into the food court.

"What you wanna eat?" She asked me

"Anything you wanna eat."

"But you're the one paying—."

"That doesn't mean a thing, whatever you got a taste for lead the way I doesn't matter to me. I'm down for whatever you're down for."

"You're a dream." I chucked at her statement

"What?"

"Meaning that you just don't seem real, are you a android? Or maybe a illusion, hologram? Can I pinch you just to make sure that you're human." I shook my head pulling her closely to me.

"Would a Android hold you like this? would an illusion feel like this? Would a hologram touch or kiss you like this?" I brought her face to mine and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around my neck I picked her up forgetting that we were out in public.

"Mommy look." I heard a little bit say I put her down immediately before his mother could turn around. We turned and got in line.

"Take out and a movie at my house?" I asked her as her face was redder than a crying baby. She was blushing mad hard and I loved it.

"Sounds perfect." She was still blushing, I grabbed her hand again ordering our food.

"Bye Toni." I waved to her as she drove off, it was around 10 the next day when she carried me home. Last night was fun, after laser tag we went back to her place, watched a movie, did a whole lot of talking.

Toni was a really unique person that had a big heart all she wanted to do was love but that love was scarred and has been for a while. I was just glad that she picked me to regain that love again. She made me feel special, in one if she asked me to marry her I would. Like I can't explain it and indeed it might be too soon but I'm head over heels for her, and I honestly I couldn't wait for her to ask me to her girlfriend. Only problem... my family.

"Hey." Latoya and Rebbie sat the table as if they were waiting for me to walk in.

"Mommas gone with Michael, have a seat."

"Okay." I sat down carefully as the atmosphere felt a little off and the tension slowly began to rise.

"So Janet you and this Toni girl just friends?"

"Yea."

"Mhm."

"Ian even gone beat round the bush like Rebbie doing. Yesterday I seen how you looked at her, you blushed your ass off even if she didn't say much. When she smiled at you there it was, you got a thing for this chick and don't lie cause we seen y'all kissing by her car. Janet what happened, I know you all to well you wouldn't just up and go with a girl."

"Ok I do, and I no I normally wouldn't but it's something about her Toya. It's something about her that makes me feel loved, appreciated, adored. She's everything. Y'all thought me and rene were all sunshine and rainbows but if y'all really knew what went on behind closed doors y'all would kill him. I'm happy with her, so please don't give me an ultimatum cause I'm gonna choose her."

"Janet we have nothing against it honestly we don't."

"Yea dunk, wipe ya eyes. We just wanted to know, we don't like being left in the dark."

"Especially when our baby on that cooxhie rubbing stuff. I wanna know all the details about everything."

"And that's what I call pure black. Seriously Jan we love to see you happy and if she makes you happy and loves you then she's alright with us. Bring her by next time we wanna get to know her some more."

"Ok." I smiled and sighed in relief that they were upset or making a big deal out of it.

"Yea, but the only people you're gonna have to worry about is mom, dad, and maybe the brothers. Overall you should be ok and if not we'll back you."

"Most definitely but for the moment being, momma can't find out." At the turn of the doorknob and the jingle of the keys there she stood

"I can't find out what?"

The immediate expression of "Uh oh" took my face.....

"I'm dead." I whispered to Rebbie as she let me lean my head on her shoulder.
