"Would me answering that question jeopardize anything?"

"Honestly it wouldn't, but for her father that's a whole different story."

"Hold it mama you didn't tell me and Rebbie that and we were just playing."

"Well listen Toni she's well mannered, nice looking, I mean look at Janet right now.."They looked at her and she looked at me I smiled causing her to blush.

She mouthed to me to stop, but I didn't I grabbed her hand kissing the back of it.

"You're beautiful you know that?"

"Yea that right there, see how she treats her. Toni sweetheart I don't know you all that well but seeing how you treat her here, how she came in from yesterday. I give you my permission to date my daughter. I'll handle her daddy later." They all looked at her mama like she was fool, Janet hugged her tightly kissing her cheek.

"I love you mama."

"I love you too baby. Toni after lunch I wanna speak to you two privately."

"Yes ma'am." Lunch went by well after that little suspense. Her mom spoke to us a little then we left.

I held her hand walking in the park with her. She stopped to look up at the stars.

"Ever wonder what a star is made of?"

"All the time."

"Toni."

"Yea."

"I don't wanna go back home tonight. I figure my mom told my dad and things are probably not good."

"Maybe she could work her magic."

"That magic stopped working after she popped me out."

"Don't even do Ms. Jackson like that."

"What I'm just saying." We shared a laughed as she leaned on my shoulder.

"Ya know I'm actually shock my mom took to you that quickly. Hell I'm shocked she's ok with it."

"Me too. I mean though we're not together yet I appreciate her respect and modesty cause most would've turned right out the door."

"Why?"

"Because of the you won't put in this earth to love the same sex thing. That's why my mom kicked me out and I stay by myself. I miss her and my family a lot, but to be honest I'm kinda doing a whole lot better mentally, physically, and financially."

"Yea I see. I admire that about you."

"Appreciate it. Ready to go home with me?"

"Yea, but wait can I have a kiss?" I turned her around holding her by her waist bending down to kiss her. Her arms wrapped around me as I picked her up carrying her to my car.

"You give the best kisses honestly."  I put her down pecking her lips before opening her side of the car.

"Oh man thank you."

"You're welcome." We got in as I drove back to my place...

Latoya

"Momma are you really gonna let Janet go with her?"

"Toya if you come in my ear about it one more time, I done told you yea. Now what else you need to know."

"Momma that's crazy, what if the girl end up leaving Janet."

"It's just puppy love Latoya."

"Momma you would've never let me or Rebbie-."

"Listen, I'm not gonna discuss my decisions with you two. Now y'all have dishes to clean I'm going to talk to y'all father, let it be the last time you question my decision if you don't like get your yellow ass out."

"Yes ma'am."

"Rebbie could you help Toya with the dishes."

"Yes ma'am."

"Remember no more discussion about my decision understand?"

"Yes ma'am..."

"Toya learn to shut up some time damn."

"I had to know Reb ain't no way in hell she'd just go for it off of looks and personality."

"Sometimes that's all it takes."

"Ion know about this, Toni's too much of a sweet talker. I think she's playing our sister for her money."

"You think that about everybody Janet gets with. Let her grow up Toya, get her off your umbilical cord cause momma got her off hers. Janets old enough now it's time to let her go."

"But when she cries on our shoulders about them we be so quick to react."

"That's our sister yes you hurt her we gone step but at the same time let her handle her business, relationship her way. It's her life Toya, she know we only mean good when it comes to protecting her. Yes Toni maybe a smooth talker, but I think she's gonna be good for Janet. I'll by you a new bag if I'm wrong, deal?"

"Deal." I shook her hand as we went and cleaned the kitchen. I really hope Toni don't hurt her...

Janet

"Toni I'm sorry ahh."

"Say I'm daddy."

"You have to earn that." She tickled me.

"Fine." She stop pulling me in for a hug.

"Whew, I'm tired."

"I can see that, let's grab some snacks and watch a movie."

"But maybe I wanna watch you." I leaned up looking her right in the face. She kissed my forehead as I held her face in my hands.

"Toni, you make me feel like the only girl in the world."

"Because to me you are."

"Are you always this sweet?"

"Are you always this beautiful?" She answered back with a question, turning me over on my back.

"You know now that you think of it, nope you should see me without 20 hours of sleep. Boy do I look rough."
