📍Chapter 6📍

In a relationship, they do everything because of love. They even show affection because they love each other. But that is not the case for me and Leon, even though I can not call it a relationship, we are still bound by marriage. Well...as far as he's concerned.

When he kissed I felt something. It is not because I have not been kissed for a long time, but besides his rudeness and arrogance he managed to make my insides melt. To my surprise the kiss lasted long. It was urgent yet not that kind of kiss that is sweet and slow. I was starting to think that he--- never mind. And suddenly he pulled away and stared at me.

"What was that?"

"You were being given a lesson, woman." Of course it's not that he wanted to kiss me anyway.

"Oh really! So where am I going to apply that knowledge?"

"In front of people Emily, guests or media."

I snorted. "Am I your doll now?"

"Good. Now you are starting to get my theories." Damn, he just had to click that red button again! He is going to hear it from me.

"What if I refuse?" I challenged placing my arms in my hips like a small kid.

"I know you can't," He taunts, smiling an evil smile.

"Don't be too sure," I warned. God how I wanted to rub that smile off his lips.

"I am very sure because we both know what you are looking for. Money and fortune." His eyes are downcast.

"I'm not interested in your fortune on the contrary..."

"Spare me the details. If it is not that then what are you looking for? love?"

"I would rather go to hell than look for love in your house!" I was very angry now, how could he be so arrogant?

"Then you're just confirming what I was saying!" That's it I had enough of this. I was ready to throw something to him also but what came out I was not expecting it.

"What if I'm just looking for company, friendship or respect? Are you that inhuman that you can't even provide that to your wife."

I immediately regretted it. Now he is thinking I'm like an abandoned kid who is begging literally anyone to take me in. But I was so hurt.

That night we sat around a fire he had built and he was grilling a fish with neither of us talking.

"Does everyone have something to eat at least?" I finally asked

"How am I supposed to know, nobody wants to join us!"

"Of course not. It's because nobody can stand you." I mutter

"What?" He asked but before I could respond we heard a grunt.

"Did you hear that?" I asked the hairs in the back of my neck standing up. As he was about to say something the grunting grower louder and I froze in my place.

Shit that thing came again. I thought we were done with it. I glance at Emily and she is frozen in her place just as the thing growled louder. We have to get out of here.

"Let's go," I whispered, grabbing her hand and making a run for it. Unfortunately for us, the animal darted after us. We were in deep shit.

After a while she stopped.

"I can't go any further," She yawns breathlessly. And of course she had to stop, why can't women ever do some sports and prepare for situations like these?

"Just stay quiet..." I warn. I didn't quite know if it was gone but surely it was somewhere around here...

"Do you think staying quiet will...." She couldn't keep her mouth shut. I didn't wait for her to finish her words. I covered her mouth and in the action of doing so I pressed her against the tree. Time seemed to stop as I watched the animal behind the very tree where she was.

"It's right behind you, don't move." I whispered, silently praying she would not freak out.

"But what will happen..."

"Shhh do you trust me?" I don't even know why I asked her that question. I already knew the answer but she surprised me when she nodded. She was staring at me with those beautiful eyes full of fear and tears started falling. I couldn't help it.

"Do you need perhaps a distraction?" Her 'yes' came out as a whisper and I made the mistake of looking at her mouth.

Damn I wonder how it will feel kissing her this time, I could already feel my little friend down there getting a bit too excited. I decided to give it a go.

"You won't like it but it's the only way I've got right now. I don't like seeing women crying," I smiled.

Without giving it too much more thought, I covered her mouth with mine.
