I had a strong headache probably from jet lag. Upon entering the house I met Stephanie. Just great.

"How was the trip sir?" She was addressing Leon, completely ignoring me. And from the looks of it no one knew we had an accident.

"Good. How were things around here and where is November?"

"Things came back to normal thanks to me, and your daughter is in her room. She hasn't come down since she came from school today."

"I'll go see what is wrong with her. Excuse me," He excused himself.

"Can you help me with bringing the bags upstairs?" I asked her, struggling to lift them at the same time.

"I'm sorry but I have things to do." She snarked, disappearing in the kitchen. What just happened? Arh! That woman was getting on my nerves and one of these days I will..... Let me not think about it.

I abandoned the suitcases downstairs and I went into the bedroom, stripped my clothes down, took a long shower and went to sleep.

I woke up hungry in the morning. That's when I realized I didn't have dinner last night. I dragged my body downstairs to hunt for food. I seriously needed something to put in my stomach.

I reached the dining room no one was around so I made myself a delicious toast and grabbed some juice.

I was in the middle of enjoying my food, when I felt a presence behind me. It was Stephanie! God what does she want now?

"Good morning Stephanie, what can I do for you?" I asked her politely.

"The breakfast hours have passed ma'am, I'm here to clean the table."

"Excuse me! What did you just say?"

"You heard me correctly. I am the lady of the house so do as I say." She stood with a large amount of pride so I decided I was done with being nice. I was going to put her in her rightful place.

"Oh dear, there is a small detail you forgot. Ever since you left I became the lady of this house and it will be until I leave which I'm not planning to do. So I suggest you make yourself disappear before I do something you'll regret!" She stared at me for a few seconds then she left.

I had lost my appetite.

It was 2:00 pm and Leon has not come back from where he had gone nor did November. So I decided to get ready before them. When they decide to show up I'll be done.

Oh yes! I had decided to go to his mother's house because of the morning incident with Stephanie. I wanted to show everyone that I'm capable and I'm not going to let anyone put me down. I think Emily was just warning me because she was afraid I would break down if she was rude to me as I always have been in my childhood. But that Emma was long gone. I will stand up for myself no matter what.

I put on a pale yellow dress reaching down my eyes, applied simple makeup, eyeliner, mascara and some lip gloss. I decided to with black heels, I let my hair down with some curls and then I was ready.

Just as I finished Leon came into the room.

"Are you done?"

"Yep. Where were you by the way?"

"I had to attend a parent's meeting at Nov's school," He replied.

"Oh! I will wait downstairs then," I said, grabbing my purse which contained basically my phone and lip gloss while I exited the room. He appeared ten minutes later dressed in a grey turtleneck sweater and some black pants. I was still drooling over him when November came dressed in....a very short dress that barely covered her ass.

"Don't you think that's too much?" I whispered to Leon when she went for the car ahead of us.

"Yes, but no one can change her mind."

Oh another untouchable one in this house!

We got in the car, me and Leon in the front and Nov in the back with her headphones in, completely ignoring the world.

I have always wanted to do that back in high school when I couldn't stand some people. But unfortunately I couldn't because we were so poor that we studied on government's scholarships ever since our dad died.

I was brought back by the sound of a screeching gate which was opening by itself. God these people were rich. And let's not talk about the house which stood in front of me. It was a four story house....no scratch that. It was a huge mansion all made in glass; you could see everything inside.

Do they have privacy at least in their rooms?

Oh I forgot the garden! I thought I had reached heaven. All the trees and colorful flowers were neatly cut and arranged that you could recognize it as....a maze? Who does that?

On our way to the front door we passed this huge pool which also formed a shape of a V letter.

Before we even stepped on the porch a couple of maids came hurriedly to welcome us.

"Welcome back home, Mr. Smith" they all chanted in union. Everything here was too much. I was starting to hate it.

Then a very elegant and sophisticated woman came out walking as if she owns the world. She wore a long white dress that I'm sure came from those popular stores and didn't mention the jewelry she wore. Her eyes landed on Nov first and a smile crept on her lips.

I'm surprised she knows how to smile.

She hugged November and her son and finally her eyes settled on me.

Damn! If looks could kill I would have died that instant. She glared at me with clear annoyance and disgust.

Then why was she so adamant for me to come along?
