"Have you guys picked a date?" Ruby asks as we look at wedding dresses
"June eighth. The day after I graduate." I say with a small smile
"What about college? You're still going right?" Jamal asks as Ruby pulls a dress off of the rack and lays it over his arm for me to try on
"Well, I didn't think I could pull it off especially after all the school I missed after I was shot. My grades were average. The only colleges that would've accepted me were hundreds of miles away, but now...Now I have all A's. And I scored a 1265 on my SAT's." I say with a big smile
"And on my ACT's I scored a thirty-one." I say as I grab a dress I like and hand it to Jamal
"That's awesome, Jay." Jamal says with a big smile
"I got into UCLA, California State, and Berkley. Berkley is five hours away and I just applied to see if I could get in so it's vetoed. California State is only forty minutes away, so, it's a maybe. UCLA is only twenty-five minutes away so it'd be ideal. I'm thinkin UCLA." I say with a big smile
"Congrats, girl." Ruby says with a big smile as I see Monse walk into the shop with Cesar
"Sorry we're late." Cesar says as he walks over to me and engulfs me in a quick hug before I turn to look at Ruby and Jamal
Before Monse moved out of her mom's she invited Ruby and Jamal over but for some reason I wasn't invited
"I know I wasn't invited but I'm back so I figured I'd come." Monse says
"Oops, I must've forgotten to invite you." I say
"You were still mad at me, Jay. I know you were on Cesar's side, you're always on Cesar's side and that's okay." Monse says
"I'm sorry your moms a piece of shit." I say before engulfing her in a hug
"I'm sorry your mom is a piece of shit too." She says before we release eachother
"Ready to try on some dresses?" Ruby asks before I nod my head in response and we walk back to the dressing room

"Am I the only one that hates it?" I ask as I look down at the dress
