This story is by no means an attempt by me to claim that I know exactly what took place between Zayn and Harry, whether before or after the band. I don't expect that any of this narrative is true, apart from the facts that I included from my research. I am not privy to the real dynamics of their private relationships, meaning I have no clue how they are with each other and others in private, or even how they speak behind closed doors. 

Please always keep in mind: the things that I write here are entirely fabricated, and based loosely (and I do mean loosely) on some of the evidence we've gathered of their relationship down through the years. You are quite familiar with that evidence, (especially if you've followed my Instagram and Youtube accounts), so I won't bore you by rehashing the details now. 

In this story I am being random, over the top, over-analytical, presumptuous, hopelessly romantic, and utilizing much creative licence to furnish a novel-length story based around the clips and articles we have about them. 

"This Thing Upon Me" is a total embellishment, and I am not attempting to speak for Harry or through Harry in a serious way. It's all for your entertainment. 

With that being said, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it! I hope you can resonate with the characters on some level, and I hope I do a little justice to this wild romance we've all been dissecting, studying, and crying over for years.

His lips curled around the filter with such grace, and with each inhale, I inhaled. With each exhale, I tried to refrain from shuddering. Smoke shrouded the space between us, spilling from his parted mouth in an irreverent display that said: 'Fuck our health. This is our youth. Do whatever feels good.'

Heavily lidded eyes watched me over the pall of smoke, tempting me with every unspoken device in his arsenal.
