"Lisa, I'm not sick anymore. Why can't I still get out of this bed?"
Lisa frowned at her wife, that's when Jennie knew she wouldn't stand a chance and win against her so she just pouted. "Your fever just got down, what if you'll have a relapse?"
"But I feel fine!" she protested. "Jongin oppa badly needs me right now. I can't just leave him like that!"
Crossing both of her arms on her chest, she stood infront of the door indicating that she was ready to stop her from going out of their room if needed. "Do you really think that you can take care of your brother in that kind of state? Would you use your mind! If Jongin sees you like that, his condition will only gets worst because he'll be so worried."
Jennie knew that her wife is right. Honestly speaking, she was grateful that she was taking care of her personally while she's sick. But she won't fall for her thoughtfulness. Because when Lisa finally grew tired of her and leave her, she will be like a broken pot that can't be whole again.
"Please, Lisa." she continued pleading. "I just want to see my brother."
"No." She shook her head hardly and with her dark eyes she could see that she really won't be able to break her decision. "If you think that I would just let my sick wife go anywhere, then you have another thing coming!"
Jennie lost her hope. Feeling tired, she just rest her back onto the pillow then sadly look elsewhere while pouting. "How you must really hate me."
She did not witness how Lisa clenched her fist tightly and the hurt which crosses her face. She opened her mouth to speak, but got interrupted when someone opened the door. Naeun came rushing in.
"Auntie Jennie!" the child exclaimed then jumped on the bed and hug her. She hug her back too. "Auntie, I heard you're sick. How are you feeling? Don't worry, I'm here now and I'll take care of you."
She hug the child tightly and felt her heart melt for the little girl. "I'm fine now, baby girl, don't worry. I don't have a fever anymore."
"Is that true?" the girl ask with tears on the sides of her eyes.
Jennie was about to answer but Lisa spoke first. "Your Auntie Jennie is still not well, Munchkin. That's why Auntie Lisa is so happy that you are here to help me take care of her."
Naeun's face lit up. "Really?" The woman nodded while smiling making the little girl go happy and hug her Aunt again. "Don't you worry, Auntie Jennie, I'll be your doctor from now on! I will take care of you till you get better!"
All Jennie could do is to smile to the kid while glaring at Lisa. Damn her! She even use Naeun to make sure she won't get out of their house. She's really a great manipulator!
"I promise that I can make you feel better and let's tell Grandma about it when she gets here next week."
What Naeun had said made Jennie froze in her spot.. She just stared at the still happy child before glancing at Lisa's direction. The whole room got wrapped in an awkward silence before the woman decided to break it.
"Naeun-ah, Munchkin, I think you should change your clothes first. I don't want you feeling uncomfortable while taking care of your Aunt."
Naeun nodded and freed herself from Jennie's arms. She too felt the tension which surrounded the couple. "Neh."
The couple kept silent while watching the little girl leaving the room. When the door has been shut closed, Jennie look at her wife's face, worrying.
"Your mother is coming here?"
Lisa nodded. "Uh.. yeah, I forgot to tell you that because you're sick. I'm sorry." She really couldn't believe that she forgot about her Mother visiting them. Silently thanking her niece for reminding her since she was so busy worrying about her wife's condition to the point that she really forgot about everything else. She was really that inlove with her that she made her worry to death.
"Your mother is coming here?!" she ask again almost shouting.
"Jennie--"
"Oh my God! What should I do?!" she shuts her eyes closed, starting to panic.
"You don't have to worry." Lisa tried to calm her down. "My Mom is kind, she'll like you for sure."
Jennie stared at her like she couldn't believe her. "Have you forgotten who I am, Lisa? What would your Mom say when she learned that Jongin oppa and I are--"
"We will only have a problem if you're foolish enough to tell her what is your relationship with Jongin!" She harshly cut her off.
"What did you just said?" she ask in disbelief. "Are you expecting me to deny my relationship with him?"
"I'm not asking you to deny or confess anything, Jennie!" She answered through clenched teeth before walking towards the bed and held both of her shoulders. The woman looked at her in shocked with her burning in rage dark eyes. "Promise me that you won't say a single thing about your brother to my mother . Do you understand?"
Was it just her or there was fear along with the worried tone of Lisa's voice. But why? And why didn't she want her Mother to know that information about her? Was she scared that her Mother would ruin all her plans to her?
Letting out a deep sigh she avoided her gaze and nods. She felt very tired all of a sudden. "Fine."
Lisa nodded with her answer. "Take a rest. I will be bringing your food when I get back, okay?"
"Okay."
She waited for her wife to take her hands off her shoulders. Instead, she pulled her in for a hug, startling her, before she let her go and gently pecking her on the lips before moving away from her looking like she was just force to do so.
Jennie was left alone inside their room. With only accompanied by her heart beating wildly inside her chest and questions with no answers.
