Beomgyu

“ Choi Hyun Joo ! ” Hyun Joo was greeted by the sudden appearance of her cousin , Choi Beomgyu .

“ Hey ... ” Hyun Joo replied to his greeting , accepting his hug with open arms .

It was hard for them to see each other nowadays , especially after Beomgyu started dating this one guy named Kang Taehyun . So a hug is necessary everytime they visit each other . ( A/N : please don't do this . Practice social distancing . Stay safe.)

“ So , what's the tea about you and Soobin hyung ? ” Beomgyu asked as he was releasing the hug  .

Hyun Joo sighed at the question , which was obvious for Beomgyu to know that nothing happens between them . He feels bad for Hyun Joo . Just like Yuna , he knew that Hyun Joo has been crushing on Soobin for years .

“ It's okay , Joo . Maybe he's not for you . ”

That's what exactly on Hyun Joo's mind . Maybe he was not meant for her . Maybe God was just testing her . Who is she kidding ? She's an atheist . On a serious view , Beomgyu is right . Maybe they weren't made for each other .

A small but painful smile plastered on her face , trying to convince Beomgyu that she is fine with everything . Of course , Beomgyu is a no fool . He could easily see through her pain , even while smiling .

“ Oh , Beomgyu ? Why are you here , dear ? ” it was Hyun Joo's mother , who just got back from the grocery store .

“ Nice to see you , aunt . I'm here to stay for a few days . Mom went out for a business trip and dad won't be back from Singapore until the first of April . ” he said politely .

It was obvious that Hyun Joo's mother is fond Beomgyu . Such a polite boy , who wouldn't want him as a son ? Sometimes , she wished that she could trade Beomgyu with Soobin . Soobin is a good son , but lacks in listening to their words . Unlike Soobin , Hyun Joo obeys them the most , even without saying anything . Hyun Joo rarely talks in the house but is very obedient , while Soobin would just go against them .

“ Nice that you're staying here , Beomgyu . You can keep Hyun Joo accompanied for a few days . You know her , she doesn't talk much . ” Hyun Joo mentally rolled her eyes at her mother for she said .

“ Is it okay for you sleep in Hyun Joo's room ? Soobin won't be back until tomorrow . It'll be weekends anyway , are you fine with that ? ”

“ I'm fine with it . Besides , Hyun Joo and I can have a slumber party together . It has been ages since we last have that party . ” Hyun Joo can't stop herself from holding her laugh . Beomgyu sounds like an excited teenage girl wanting to talk about his crush . Of course , he'll talk about Taehyun all night .

“ That's good then . You guys can go change your uniforms and help me with dinner after . ”

They nodded in unison , walking together towards Hyun Joo's room to change their clothes but of course , Beomgyu would change his clothes in the bathroom . He's not straight but a respect for women is a must , which includes not violating their privacy to change clothes .

“ I tell you , Hyun Joo . He's the most nuisance but perfect boyfriend ever . ” that sums up Beomgyu's description of his boyfriend , Taehyun .

It was after dinner when they started their slumber party . Beomgyu wanted to rant about his boyfriend , and Hyun Joo was willing to hear every single bit of it . From what she concluded , Taehyun is a bottom . His story sums up into only one conclusion from Hyun Joo . It's cute though , loving someone regardless of what their gender revealed to be . Well , love is love . Boy or girl , nothing would change . You love someone and that's enough . Love will always be the same even with liking the same gender .

“ That's cute . Let me meet him one day . ” Beomgyu nodded at Hyun Joo's request . He'll definitely book a date for her to meet Taehyun .

After hearing Beomgyu's love story , Hyun Joo suddenly feel sad about herself . Even a bent pole like Beomgyu have an amazing love story , what about a solid statue like her ? None. Soobin won't even spare a glance .

“ Joo , stop overthinking . ” it was as if Beomgyu can read her mind . She is worrying him .

“ I'm fine , Gyu . Don't worry about me . ”

They said the brightest smile hid the most secret . The silent one screamed the loudest pain . For Hyun Joo , her dull smile silenced both pain and secret .
