What was that for ?

[ Hyun Joo's P.O.V ]

I was aware that I had a nightmare yesterday , but I'm more aware of the situation between Soobin and Beomgyu . The tension between them are eating me up alive . I was just trying to have my breakfast in peace but they are annoying me with their staring contest and shit .

“ So , Beomgyu . I heard that your father had signed a contract with The Empire ? ” Father suddenly opens a topic .

“ Yes , it was just recently that they signed it . ”

“ That's good . I'm good friends with the CEO, might as well introduce you to their youngest daughter , YeonJin . She's Hyun Joo's age and pretty as well . You will like her for sure . ”

No , my parents didn't know that Beomgyu wasn't straight . Father is a homophobic . He will never approve a same sex relationship . I once had a friend who declared herself as a lesbian , Jennie Kim . After knowing the fact that Jennie was gay , father made me cut off everything that has to do with her and moved me into the school where I study now . I can't imagine him knowing that Beomgyu is not straight . He might disown Beomgyu .

Beomgyu was obviously tensed by father's words . A hand of his under the table curled into a fist , starting  to tremble . I quietly place my hand on his curled one , assuring him that it's fine . Surprisingly , Soobin did nothing about it .

“ You too , Soobin . I think their first-born daughter is a perfect match for you . ”

Soobin dropped his bread with a gaped mouth , I was startled too . Father loves to set Soobin up on a date , wanting him to marry someone as soon as possible . It would be a lie if I say that I wasn't relieved when Soobin rejected every piece of father's proposals . Call me greedy , but I only want to keep Soobin for myself . Even with the sad truth that he doesn't feel the same .

“ Father , I think we went through this already . I'm not going to meet or date anybody . I'll decide who to meet and who to date . ” Soobin's stubborn personality making it's appearance .

“ You decide ?  Choi Soobin , I'm your father . I know who and what's best for you . You're 22 years old now , Soobin . 2 more years and you'd be taking over my company rather than being a teacher . ”

“ Honey , I think that's enough . ” lord , or whoever up there , praise my mother for interrupting father . I can't stand another word coming out of his mouth .

Clanking voices of forks and spoons start again . I swear that Soobin almost throw his bread on father's face . Just when I thought that it was over , father starts to speak again.

“ Hyun Joo , wear decent clothes . You'll be meeting the heir of The Empire company later . ” heir ? A boy ?!

I was too shocked to response , do does Beomgyu . Soobin slams his fork on his plate , giving father a stern look .

“ No , she can't . I won't let her meet up with some heir that you set her up with . ”

“ You know , I don't know when did I ask for your opinion , Choi Soobin . She's going . I don't care if she doesn't like the whole idea . If I say that she'll meet him , then she'll meet him , and that's period ! ” said father before leaving us towards the kitchen , followed by mother .

I could see the furious and rage in Soobin's eyes . His bunny face no longer exist in radar . Sure , father was more than cruel to set me up on something that I would never agree on , but I'm more terrified of Soobin . He looks like he's going to stab father with his fork any second now .

Beomgyu , on the other side , presented an apologetic look for what I am about to go through later . He shouldn't be . The apology belongs to me . He had no choice other than to witness our family drama , involving a piece of himself .

‘ clinkkkk !! ’ Soobin threw his utensils on the plate with rage , making us flinched in fear .

“ Beomgyu , let go of her . ” he demanded .

Beomgyu hesitated on letting go of my hand , but Soobin isn't having none of that for now . He snatched my hand away , pulling me upstairs towards my own room . He harshly pushed me behind the door to close it , as he slowly marches forward . Our faces were only inches away from each other , which I was sorry but had to hang it low .

“ Look at me . ” he was basically growling at this point .

Am I going to obey him ? No . I'm stubborn as well and he might kill me . Keeping my head low is the best choice .

“ I said look at me , Choi Hyun Joo . ” he grabbed me by my chin .

My eyes met his sparkling ones but the beauty in it was killed by anger . He's going for blood .

“ You listen to me very clearly , Hyun Joo . If that boy touches you , on any part of your body , I'm going to break his bones into pieces . Willing to let him touch you or not , I'm going to kill him . Do you copy that ? ”

I was silent for a moment . “ I said , do you copy that ?! ”

“ Yes . ”

“ Good ”

It took me literally seconds to react on what he initiated on me afterwards . His lips collided with mine , moving in a slow pace while I just stood there , shocked . The kiss was rather harsh but soft at the same time . As if it was a warning from him but I couldn't get the mail .

I was about to close my eyes and go with the flow , but his lips let go of mine at a lighting speed . He smirked , kissing me on the cheek before leaving the room , along with leaving me dumbfounded . My fingers traced along my lips that has lost it's
virginity .

What was that for ?
