Ashlyn Murphy just had her 20th birthday, on August 23rd. Ash was from a town in a vast valley known only for its welcoming nature and all her life, Ash had been quite wealthy. She had gained an even larger sum of money to her name when her father, Crawford Murphy, had died just over a year ago.
During the time just after his passing, Ash had become quite depressed because her and her father had been as close as any two people to ever walk the earth could be. Crawford was a fireman and captain of the fire station where he had worked, until one day when he died saving people from a large arts studio that had caught on fire in an act of arson.
When she was younger, Ashlyn had always looked up to her dad as her mother had died when she was born. They had lived in a huge house in the center of the town. Crawford had been a highly respected man and quite rich as well. You see, before he became a firefighter in his early forties, he had been an actor since his childhood. Over time he saved as much of the money he made as he could, with the dream of one day helping a lot of people in need.
When he died, Ashlyn took quite a long time to get over his death, disconnecting from people around her, even her closest friend who lived in the valley a few miles away. But her despair over his passing ceased on the 24th of August, the day after her birthday.
That was the day when the strongest hurricane to ever pass that area hit her town and destroyed the whole valley in the flooding that had come from it. She had been living by herself, after her father's death, in the small mansion she had grown up in. She of course her large fortune, but never really knew how to use it to carry out her father's dream.
Now that the childhood home of hers had been ruined, Ash takes a few days to calm down and wake up. She realizes that her valley was one of the bigger around the city and just how damaged it was must mean that the others would be absolutely pummeled. What had become of her friends? As Ash finds herself living in an over-crowded makeshift shelter on the edge of the valley, she now understands that she can help. No, she needs to help, to fulfill Crawford's dream.
But she will need support from the people close to her, from the community and from the big city. Everyone is in a state of mass panic, even the relay important people in the city, so nothing is getting done right. She needs to reconnect and make big time changes. What happens when Ashlyn tries to save the lives of people like her father once did? Will she be able to make amends with her friends after a year of no contact?
