Melody's POV

I rolled my eyes at Sam as he landed the jet in Wakanda. Why would they invite us, only to let us disintegrate in their forcefield? We disembarked, Steve, Nat, and I first, followed by Bruce and Rhody and Wanda and Vision brought up the rear.

"Seems like I'm always thanking you for something," Steve said, shaking T'Challa's hand.

"So how big of an assault can we expect?" He asked as we began walking into the administrative building.

"Uh, sir, I think you can expect quite a big assault," Bruce replied.

"How we looking?" Nat asked.

"You will have my Kingsguard, the Border Tribe, the Dora Milaje, and..."

"A semi-stable, 100-year-old man," Bucky said.

"Did you have to get here first?" I asked, grinning.

"Sorry, doll," He smiled sheepishly.

"You should be." We made our way to Shuri's lab and she scanned the Stone in Vision's head. I began to feel a little woozy and then I was in the forest, Thanos on his knees and Thor hovering over him with an ax in his chest. Thanos had completed the gauntlet.

"You should have... you... You should have gone for the head." He snapped his fingers and it was done. If I let the Timeline continue on we would lose. Trillians of people would die. I decided then and there that I would not let that happen.

"Whoa. The structure is polymorphic," Shuri said, bringing my back to the present.

"Right, we had to attach each neuron non-sequentially," Bruce said.

"Why didn't you just reprogram the synapses to work collectively?" She asked and Vision looked at Bruce in agreement.

"Because we didn't think of it," He answered.

"I'm sure you did your best," Shuri said.

"Can you do it?" Wanda asked.

"Yes, but there are more than two trillion neurons here. One misalignment could cause a cascade of circuit failures. It will take time, brother."

"How long?" I asked.

"As long as you can give me."

"Something's entered the atmosphere," Okoye said, looking at her kimoyo beads.

"It's too late. We need to destroy the stone now," Vision said, getting off the table.

"Vision, get your ass back on the table," Natasha ordered.

"We will hold them off," T'Challa said.

"Wanda, as soon as the stone's out of his head... you blow it to hell," Steve said as we left.

"I will."

"Evacuate the city. Engage all defense procedures. And get this man a shield," T'Challa ordered.

"How we looking, Bruce?" Nat asked.

"Yeah, I think I'm getting the hang of it. Wow! It's like being the Hulk without actually- I'm okay. I'm okay."

"I got two heat signatures breaking through the tree line," Rhody informed us.

"MIE EFFA! YA HU! MIE EFFA! YA HU! MIE EFFA! YA HU! MIE EFFA! YA HU! MIE EFFA! YA HU!" The Jabari soldiers chanted.

"Thank you for standing with us," T'Challa said.

"Of course, brother."

"Where's your other friend?" Nat asked Proxima Midnight, or as I liked to call her, the very angry blue lady.
