Once again, this is a collab with PurpleCherryUwU

This partly a continuation of the part "Shade has Daddy Issues, Cole Tries to Help"

There will be a part 2 to this.  (We did a REALLY long roleplay of this XD)

I left a couple pieces out, since it didn't work with previous chapters in the story. Sorry ;-;

There was never a dull moment in the Emergency Room.  Like, ever.  After he graduated, Shade was hired at the Clearwater Hospital as an Emergency Room doctor.  Being an EMT, he was qualified to work there.  He was also qualified to ride in an ambulance with patients and go to scenes of medical emergencies.  The job never got boring and it always gave Shade a sense of pride every time he successfully treated a patient.

"Dr. Loveq? You're needed in room 6.  A man fell off a military lookout platform and injured his shoulder," a nurse explained, passing Shade a folder of papers.

"Alright, I'll go check him out," Shade said and made his way toward room 6.  He knocked on the wall next to the room, since each room was closed of with a curtain, and waited for a gruff "yeah?" before entering.

The person there, upon recognition, made his blood freeze.

It was his father, Dakota.

Swallowing back panic--it was never good to panic in the ER when treating a patient--he sat down in the chair next to the heart monitor and opened his father's file.

"So, you fell off a military lookout platform?" he asked.  Dakota rolled his eyes.

"Yeah.  Landed on my left shoulder.  Didn't want to come here, but the general made me," he muttered.  Shade jotted it down on the paper.

"On a scale of 1-10, 1 being doesn't hurt at all and 10 being extreme pain, what would you rate your shoulder?" Shade asked.

"Five," Dakota spat.

"Okay, I'm going to see if we can get an x-ray, to see if it is dislocated.  I'll be back," Shade replied, standing up.   He quickly darted out of the room and approached the desk.

"Can you get x-ray to do an x-ray of the patient's shoulder in room 6?" he asked the nurse.  She nodded.

"Of course, Dr. Loveq," she replied and started typing on the computer.  Shade nodded and walked to a more private area of the ER and dialed a number on his phone.

"Hello?" Lou asked.  Shade took a deep breath.

"Hey, um, it's Shade," he mumbled.

"Shade! How are you? You sound nervous or rattled.  Something wrong?" Lou asked worriedly.

"Uh, my dad is in the ER and I'm supposed to treat him.  What do I do?! I don't think he recognized me, but what if does? I don't think I can deal with him if he freaks out again! What if-"

"Hey, hey, hey, slow down.  Breathe.  Okay? He can't do anything to you while you are treating him.  Besides, you've got this.  You can do this," Lou comforted.  Shade sighed.

"You're right, I can do this.  Thank you," Shade murmured.

"You're welcome, Shade.  Now, go do what you do best: helping others," Lou encouraged and hung up.

Shade put his phone away and went back to room 6.  Before he went in, he collected the x-ray results and looked through them.  Dislocated, just as he'd suspected.
