The next day at school, we put our plan into action.

"Now you have the hair and the clothes." I say.

"Now, for the basics." Vi adds, opening a blue retainer case to reveal some fake fangs. "Wear these at all times."

Davis makes sure no one is looking before he puts them in.

"Perfect." I say, "In some cases, vampire's eyes are always changing colors, so you'll need these contact lenses.

Davis took them and opened them for a quick look.

"Wait, these are gold." He says, "Don't I get red like yours?"

"Trust me, the most people are gonna know are the absolute basics and what's in Twilight. They'll only know from the Cullens, and they have gold eyes. Mine are red because I like them, and they look more menacing."

"Some vampires can fly, so we've got to get you off the ground." Vi adds.

Over the next few days, we had pretty much fooled the entire school. Davis was always wearing his fangs, occasionally had the gold contacts in, and Vi was even able to make it look like he was supernaturally passing by the windows. The only problem was that it seemed to draw him even closer with Caitlyn.

I hated to admit it, but I was starting to crush on Davis. It was kinda hard not to. He's cute, He's Australian, He's a pretty chill guy, but the best part was that he didn't think my vampire lifestyle was too weird. Hell, he was even getting in on it, although it was mostly just to screw with most of the school. But still, he seemed genuinely interested in the vampire thing and also seemed to be enjoying it.

I guess on the plus side, I was also getting some attention from it as well, but not as much as he was. I occasionally got asked if one of us turned the other, which I chose to leave as a mystery. Although I was very tempted to say that it was me that turned him. I also wasn't getting as many weird looks or comments as I used to. But, I still felt like a spectator. I couldn't help but feel envious of him. I openly claimed to be a vampire and was brushed off, while the school only thought he was due to some timely mishaps. I knew it was wrong to think that, but it just bothered me.

"Hey, you alright?" Vi asks, shaking me from my thoughts one day.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I respond.

"No, you're not." Vi says, "Come on, what is it?"

I didn't respond.

"It's Davis, isn't it?" Vi asks. "You like him, don't you?"

"Yeah." I say. "I mean, aside from this whole thing we've been doing, which is still pretty fun, and he's been cool with me being what I am."

"I did mean to ask when he found out and how he reacted." Vi says.

"His first day. At lunch. He saw my 'blood bottle' and my red eyes and figured it out. He didn't think it was weird or anything at all."

"Well, I'm sure he'll come around."

"Unlikely. Have you seen the way he's been looking at Caitlyn?"

"Caitlyn only cares about this whole vampire thing, and wouldn't even look in his direction if this never started. Meanwhile you don't care about that, and like him for who he is. He'll realize what he's missing out on sooner or later. Now, let's get to class."

The day went by, and we were in History when something odd happened. Some weird guy came in and dumped a bunch of water on these two kids near Davis and I before suddenly running out. Vi and I exchanged weird looks before going back to our assignments.
