The next day, I met Vi at our usual spot by the lockers, where we heard an interesting conversation between Caitlyn's two Heathers. Apparently, Caitlyn was telling people that Davis was going to turn her on Friday. Vi and I exchanged a quick look before we went to look for Davis, and found him in the library.

"So, Caitlyn is telling everybody that you're going to turn her into a vampire on Friday." Vi says.

"What?" Davis asks, "Oh, come on, she can't actually believe that."

"You're talking about the girl that already believes that you're a real life vampire." I add. "She's expecting you to bite her on the neck and turn her into a vampire. You can't let this go on. It's too far."

"I tried to tell her." Davis says.

"But you didn't." Vi counters.

"I thought we were having fun." Davis says.

"Davis, you're the only one who's having fun anymore." I say.

"I see now." Davis says, "You're jealous."

"You think we're jealous of Caitlyn?" Vi asks.

"No." Davis replies, "I think you're jealous of me for being popular. And that I'm getting more attention for this whole vampire thing than you. Why would you be jealous of Caitlyn?"

Now that was a low blow. I knew it, and Vi knew it. And Davis knew it.

"No reason." I respond, "None at all. Have a great time Friday night. Come on, Vi." We then brushed past him as we made our way to class.

We had both ignored him for the rest of the week, and come Friday night, I had sealed myself in my room. The only lights that were on were the flickering flame lights on the mini chandelier above my bed and one other red light in my closet. I wandered around as Bloodbath and Beyond  by ICE NINE KILLS played through my speakers, singing along to the metal song. When it was over, I let the next few songs play before I got a text from Vi.

'How you doing?'

'Doing, I guess.'

'I heard things didn't go well with Caitlyn.'

'He get found out?'

'Yeah.'

'K. Gtg, talk to you at school.'

The following Monday, Vi and I were at our usual spot when we heard insults being thrown. I quickly looked over and saw Davis walking over, and everyone was calling him names like 'loser' and 'liar.' He stopped by us, but I refused to look at him, and Vi just gave him an annoyed look before we left for class. Davis kept trying to talk to us, but we still ignored him.
