More time passed, and soon it was time for one of my favorite events: the Creepy Carnival. To no one's surprise, I was wearing one of my vampire outfits. I wore black leather pants with a black long sleeve corseted top that had a high collar and flowed behind me like a cape, red satin under it. I also had tome tall black boots, my bat earrings, and my ring of course. Vi wore a cute purple dress with a black and white striped jacket that had a large flower on it, black tights and boots, and a purple wig. We were working the Haunted House, collecting tickets. That's when we saw Davis looking in our direction.

"I'm gonna talk to him." I tell Vi.

"You sure?" She asks.

"Not really. Be right back." I respond before walking over to him. "Really?" I ask him, "Dracula?"

"Don't be afraid." Davis says, "I'm not actually a vampire."

"Clearly." I respond. "I should get back to Vi."

"No, wait." Davis says, "I just wanted to tell you that when I started doing all of this, all this pretending, I thought it'd be the only way that I'd finally get some real friends."

"I'd say you made plenty."

"No. Just two. And one of them I really hurt by abusing something she loves, and I'm really sorry." Davis then pulled out a small box and handed it to me. "Here, I want you to have this." I didn't respond as I took the box from him. "Anyways, I'll-I'll talk to you later."

Davis then walked away and I opened the box to see one of his kaleidoscopes and a small piece of paper. I took the paper out and unfolded it, reading the note written on it.

'Sometimes I pretend things are what they really aren't. With you, I don't need to pretend. You make real life way better than make believe.

-Davis'

I put the note back in the box before going back to Vi.

"What did he say?" She asked.

"I'm gonna need to take a walk." I say, "That alright?"

"Go ahead." Vi replies, "I can handle this on my own for a bit."

"Thanks." I say before wandering around the carnival. Davis's apology seemed sincere, but I didn't know if I could forgive him yet or not. I kinda wanted to, but I was still a bit mad at him. My thoughts were soon interrupted by an odd voice.

"Excuse me, miss, are you lost?" It was the man from History and the Dance. This time, he was dressed like some sort of monster hunter.

"No, I'm alright." I respond.

"I can help you get back to where you need to be." He says, approaching me. "Bloodsucker." He whispered before a bag was suddenly over my head. Next thing I knew, he was tying my arms together with some sort of rope after dragging me away.
