>GUNDHAM POV

What a series of misfortunes.

"Ibuki, was I too harsh on the mortal creature?" I said, glaring at the candle stick.
"Ibuki agrees!" The candle stick joyfully replied while jumping onto the thrown-like bed.
"I think so, too. You probably scared the poor girl." Hajime adds, his hands ticking every second.
"Ibuki thinks you should talk to her! She won't be happy unless you comfort her." Ibuki hopped off of the bed and bounced down the hallway.
"CONSENT!" Hajime waddled away with Ibuki, the ticking of the clock becoming fainter and fainter.

I growled, as did my stomach. Time to start dinner.

>>SONIA POV

I had awaken after falling asleep on a terribly uncomfortable bed. I heard a humming noise. It sounded as though it was a woman singing a song quietly. I rolled over in the bed and saw a dresser moving on it's own. I got up and rubbed my eyes, yawning. HOLD ON. A DRESSER MOVING ON ITS OWN... WHILE SINGING? I backed up to the door and began panting. Am I on acid? Was I drugged? I slowly walked over to the dresser.

"Excuse me... are you alive?" I stumbled on my words.
"Sadly yes. I'm sorry if I frightened you, dear." She pleaded forgiveness.
"O-oh... it's quite alright. What's your name? Do you have one?"
"It's Peko."
"That's a lovely name. I'm Sonia."
"Oh yes, I know. The headmaster has told us all about you. Well, he told Ibuki and Hajime... THEY told everyone about you." Peko giggled a little, sounding as though she was restraining her laughter.
"Oh... that's..." I became flustered and didn't know how to respond.
"Anyways, I'm sure the master would have wanted you to have a proper change of clothes. I've prepared this dress for you." Peko held up a shorter, green dress with a big red bow on the chest.
"It's beautiful." I was so shocked by its beauty.

I put on the dress and then remembered that I had been locked in. Well, guess I'm not leaving. I tried to open the door and to my surprise it opened. I tip toed through the hallway and down the stairs. I thought I'd do some exploring while nobody was around. I crossed the stairs and went up another stairs, leading to a different wing of the house. I assume his room is at the end of this wing. I walked to the end of the hall, almost about to enter his room, but another thing caught my eye. There was a stairwell leading up on this side instead of down. I ran up the stairwell, and I began to see light. I reached the top of the stairs and it was a glass room on the roof. There were a lot of curtains covering the windows, but there was a balcony at the end of the room that let light leak through. On the balcony there was a pedestal. There was a red rose contained in glass on the pedestal. I walked over to it slowly. I was fully submerged in the light. It felt so good to not be locked up in a dark, cold room. As I was about to open the glass case, a strong hand yanked me back. Gundham was standing behind me, glaring down at me. Half of my body was still in the sunlight: his hand was still on the shoulder that was in the sun. I began to smell burnt meat and then Gundham's hand retreated to his side. He squeezed his hand in his other one as if to hide something. Gundham began to groan a bit and covered his face with his scarf. He seemed angry. And scared.

"Breakfast is served. Come to the dinning hall at once." His voice was muffled from the scarf.
"I'm on it." For some reason my first instinct was to salute him and march down to the dinning hall like a soldier.

Gundham began to limp down the stairwell, keeping his balance by dragging his arm against the wall. At the last few steps he started coughing and then fell to his knees. Blood splattered the floor, from his mouth.

"Are you okay?!" I started to hyperventilate and panic.

He kept coughing. Now is my chance to run away and escape. I can leave him here, maybe he'll die, but at least I know I won't. No. I can't to that. I'm sorry, Father. I'm sorry, Ms. Owari. I wrapped Gundham's arm around my neck and helped him back to his room.

"You're okay. It's gonna be okay." I whispered "little nothings" into his ear to try and calm him. Once arriving at his room, I laid him down in his bed and tucked him in. He has an intense fever. I tried to get up to go and get water for him, but then he grabbed my arm and pulled me down on top on him. My face was burning hot.

"G-Gundham..."
"Stay still." His voice came as cold and harsh. He moved his head to me neck.
"Gundham." I pushed myself up a little to look at him in the eye.

Gundham was shaking. His fangs shown like diamonds. Two long, sharp fangs in his front row of teeth. He looked scared and confused. There was no way I could say no. My body just acted on my own. I rolled up my sleeve and held out my arm to him. I was trembling just as much as him.

"H-Here..." I understood what was happening.

He took my arm and slowly brought it to his mouth. He looked back up at me and then back down to my arm. He slowly put it in his mouth and bit down as fast as he could. Not because he was desperate(even though he was), but because he didn't want me to feel the pain for long.
