Valencia and Indigo snickered and whispered like kindergarteners talking about a new kid. Their tall bodies leant over a small table with an assortment of weapons on it.

Scarlet leaned against the wall, gnawing on her nails. Though, consciously, she was beginning to feel bad for the borderhoppers after having manipulated them for so long and fully understand everything they've gone through....subconsciously, she was thinking about how Indigo and Valencia's red and green themed selves looked like Christmas.

"Ok, Scarlet." Valencia said, red eyes wide and glowing in the darkness. "Here's the plan; each of us get one elemental to torture. Indigo and I both wanted Maya-" she shot a glare at Indigo, "but I get the Psychic because I have more history with her. I've been waiting for this for years-"

"I get Lily." Indigo said shortly, "You get to choose between the last living Ascil, an obnoxious fairy, or the bug boy."

Scarlet blinked rapidly. "Wh-but-"

"If you aren't up to it, you can leave." Indigo said.

"You better not ruin our fun." Valencia grinned, "or you'll be down there next."

Scarlet narrowed her icy eyes for a moment. Never had anything been so out of her control before; she always knew who was going where, how they were getting there, and what they were thinking. However, she had no grasp on these two, and their minds were just as clouded with hate as Scarlet's was before she killed Breeze.

"O-Oliver. I'll take Oliver." The ice elemental sputtered.

Valencia and Indigo exchanged glances, before stepping aside to reveal the weapon table.

"Pick your poison, kid."

Maya had managed to levitate a small pin towards her and was now picking at the chain behind her back.

"That'll never work." Lily said, "maybe if it were ropes it would work, but that's steel."

"Do you have any better ideas?" Maya said, wincing a bit as she accidentally stabbed herself.

Valencia's voice rung out in the basement, causing Maya's shoulders to jerk, dropping the pin and sliding it beneath her.

"Maya Akemi, I choose you!" Valencia purred, grinning widely as she descended the steps with brass rings on. The halfbreed's eyes remained narrowed at Valencia, but her breath quickened.

"Lily, you're mine." Indigo said, following behind Valencia with a sharpened knife.

Lastly, Scarlet came down the steps with nothing in hand, "Oliver." She said. Her eyes seemed lighter, her hair had been tucked behind her ears and there was a strange look on her face.

"Wait- what?!" Lily exclaimed, "No! He didn't do anything! Why are you guys doing this?! Why can't you see this is wrong?!" The halfbreed yanked at her chains, her wrists bloodied against the harsh metal.

"This isn't wrong. They are criminals." Indigo said.

"They're wanted." Valencia chuckled.

"They don't deserve torture!" Lily exclaimed, her voice was weak from shouting for so long and it caused Scarlet to flinch.

Suddenly Indigo brought the knife down on Lily's hand, piercing it through her palm and wedging her hand into the chair's armrest.

Lily cried out, her shoulders jerking as she screamed.

The others looked away while Oliver yelled.

Scarlet brought her hand down over Oliver's mouth and he thrashed about in her grasp for a moment, attempting to yell at his sister.

"Oliver shhh!" Scarlet hissed in a low whisper, "I'm gonna get you guys out of here."

Oliver was panting beneath her hand, eyes wide as he trembled, then he nodded softly, unsure if it was a trick or not.

She nodded back at him, "So...sorry for what I'm about to do." With that, she lifted her hand, and Oliver clenched his teeth as his chest tightened once again, he let out a cry until his head swam and he fell unconscious against the concrete floor.

Scarlet scoffed loudly, interrupting Indigo and Valencia. Lily was whimpering from the cuts she'd been receiving, while Maya was on the ground with a few bruises on her face, Max yanking against her chains towards Valencia. Taube was squeezing his eyes shut, head against the wall.

"Oliver's too weak to handle this." Scarlet said, "He's already unconscious. I need to bring him to the river so I can use the water to keep him awake."

"Fine, whatever, just go." Indigo snapped, before cutting deeply in Lily's cheek.

Scarlet clenched her fist and the chains holding him froze over and shattered, then she lifted Oliver and levitated the unconscious boy up the stairs, all while Taube shouted at her.

"I'm gonna get you all out of here..." Scarlet whispered softly, as she walked away from the cries and shouts of the Ascil basement, leaving the abandoned Ascil Towers with Oliver.
