"Papes! Papes for the newsies; line up." Weisel says
"Mornin', Weasel, you miss me?" Daisy says getting in line with Jack.
"The name's Wei-sel" He says.
"Ain't that what she said? We'll take the usual." Jack says.
"Hundred papes for the wise kids" Weisel says and Oscar give the two their papes and they split it, like every single day.
"How's it goin' Weasel?" Race says
"At least call me mister." he replies
"I'll call you sweetheart if you spot me fifty papes." Race winks.
"Drop your cash and move it along" Weisel says rolling his eyes.
"Whatever happened to romance?!" Race says
"Fifty for the Racer. Next." Wiesel says as Race gets his papes.
"Good mornin'. Mr. Weisel." Crutchie says.
"Fifty papes for Crutchie." he says as Crutchie passes him
"Hey, look at this! A new kid!" He says
"I'm New too!" the kid behind the older says
"Don't worry kid, it rub,it rubs right off!" Daisy says sitting next to Jack on the other paper stand.
"I'll take twenty newspapers, please." The older one says
"twenty papes for the new kid. Hey, Hey, lets see the dime." he says
"Well I'll pay you when i sell them."
"Haha, funny kid. Come on. Cash up front."
"But whatever i dont sell, you buy back, right?"
"Oh! Certainly! And every time you lose a tooth, I put a penny under your pillow. Ha! this kid's a riot. Come on, cough up the cash or blow. Come on, move it along. Albert! Lets see your money"
"You have a very interesting face. Ever think of getting into the moving picture?" Albert says
"You really think i could?" Weisel says admiring his face.
"Sure. Buy a ticket, they let anyone in!" he says as the others laugh.
"Sorry, excuse me, i paid for twenty, but you only gave me nineteen" the older new boy says
"See how nice i was to the new kid. What do i get for my civility? Ungrounded accusations?" Weisel
"I just want what i paid for" the boy says as Jack snatches the papes from him, Daisy following behind him.
"He said beat it." Oscars says
"New kid's right Weasel, you gave him nineteen, I'm sure its an honest mistake" Jack says
"On account of how Oscar can't count to twenty with his shoes on." Daisy says. Oscar lunges at Daisy but his held back by Weisel
"Here's your paper. Take a hike." Wiesel says handing the new kid a paper.
"Give the new kid fifty more papes!" Jack says slapping more money onto the box.
"I don't want more papes" the boy says.
"What kind of newsie don't want more papes?" Daisy says.
"I'm no charity case! Besides, i don't even know you guys.." he says taking the younger ones hand.
"His name is Jack, and thats his girlfriend Daisy!" the younger one says.
"Yeah, this here is the famous Jack Kelly, Daisy hasn't done anything yet, but she's still great. Hey, c'mere! He once escaped jail on the back of Teddy Roosevelt's carrige. Made all the papes!" Crutchie says.
"So, how old are you, kid?" Jack says to the younger boy.
"I'm Ten... almost." he says
"Well if anybody asks, you're seven. Younger sells more papes, and if we're gonna be partners-" Daisy says.
"Who said we want a partner?" the older one says.
"Selling with Jack and Daisy is the chance of a lifetime. If you learn with them, you learn from the best." Crutchie says
"Well if they're the best, then what they need with me?" the older one states.
"Cause you got a little brother and i don't" Jack says.
"With that plus, we can easily sell a thousand papes a week!" Daisy says
"Look sad, kid." Jack says to the younger one.
"We're gonna make millions!" Daisy says looking at Jack.
"This is my brother, David. I'm Les." Les says.
"It's nice to meet you, Davey. My too bits come off the top, and we split everything else 70-30" Jack says
"Jack!" Daisy says astonished
"50-50! you wouldn't try and pull a fast one on a little kid." Les says.
"60-40, and thats my final offer." Jack says to Les. Les looks at his brother and back at Jack and Daisy.
"Deal!" he says spitting into his hand. Jack does the same and they shake.
"That's disgusting." Davey says
"That's just business." Daisy says to Davey. Jack climbs to the top of one of the paper stands.
"Newsies! Get to the streets! The sun is up, the headline stinks, and this kid ain't gettin' any younger!" Jack yells
"We'll all be out there Carrying the banner man to man! We're always oout there soakin ev'ry sucker that we can. Here's the headline: Newsies on a mission! Kill the competition!
