"i'm gonna make you intoxicating like wine"

walking into the party, many people kept coming to greet akemi and doyoung. areum fell far behind in a crowd of people losing the pair. areum knew this was gonna happen. akemi is known for coming to these types of parties often. ever since freshman year akemi has never been the same. feeling as if she had something to prove. that's why areum didn't want to come to the party in the first place, but her guilt got the best of her.

"reumi!" a familiar voice called out to areum.

"siyeon" areum said hugging her friend.

areum and siyeon met back in sophomore year. siyeon being areum's only friend besides akemi. akemi and siyeon never really got along due to siyeon dating wonwoo, akemi's ex back in freshman year.

"what are you doing here? you never come to such things" she said "does yunho know you're here" she asks tilting her head to the side. areum chuckles and shakes her head.

"no and he doesn't need to know that. who'd you come here with anyway?" areum asks raising her eyebrow.

"no one, all though there is someone i'm trying to see" she said smirking.

"well i'll leave you to it" areum said laughing along with siyeon "i'll see you soon". areum and siyeon shared a hug before going separate ways. areum wondered around the house, seeing if she could find akemi, perhaps even doyoung. on her way, she saw everything from couples shoving their tongues down each others throats, people getting high in the corner with clouds of smoke covering their heads, people throwing up because of all the alcohol they couldn't handle.

"looking for someone?" a voice said causing areum to throw her head back in annoyance. "oh don't do that baby girl, i'm the only one you need to be looking for".

"actually no jackson, i'm looking for akemi. have you seen her?" areum asks.

"no, but let's not worry about her. all you need is me baby" jackson says giving areum a smug expression causing areum to feel uneasy.

jackson has had a never ending crush on akemi and areum since the 8th grade. akemi and areum never felt the same way about him due to his exhausting crush and terribly uncomfortable pick up lines.

"why don't we take this upstairs" jackson said walking closer to areum. but before she could reject him she heard her name being called.

"come take shots with us" akemi yelled from across the room. as much as areum hated alcohol, she wanted to use this as an excuse to get away from jackson. she also wanted to yell at akemi for leaving her at a party she invited her too.

areum made her way to the table of shots surrounded by a bunch of drunks, akemi, doyoung, and his friends.

"akemi what the hell, first you invite me to a party you knew i didn't even want to come to nor do i even know anyone. then you leave me to wonder alone" areum says letting it out to her best friend. she was about to continue but then doyoung spoke before she could continue.

"chill, relax, take a shot" doyoung said handing areum a shot. areum gave him a stank face putting the glass down.

"oh come on areum. one drink can't hurt" akemi said trying to convince her best friend. "no, i don't even like alcohol. besides yunho wouldn't be happy if he found out, let alone that i'm here in the first place" areum said running her hand through her hair.

okay, at this point you may be wondering who yunho is. well, yunho is areum's boyfriend. they started dating towards the end of junior year. areum's friends don't really like him, as they see him as a goody two shoes that convinces areum to have certain restrictions on things.

"oh my god' doyoung said rolling his dark piercing eyes "enough about this yunho guy, if you hadn't noticed this is a party you're supposed have fun and get drunk at. not that your goody two shoes ass boyfriend would know anything about, right?" he says causing her jaw to drop.

areum had no idea how he knew about her and yunho. but then again, he's friends with her best friend who loves to run her mouth. she stared at doyoung in shock. he stared back, but with secrecy in his eyes.

being so shocked, areum looked away and took the shot to prevent anymore embarrassment. she felt the burning sensation of the alcohol rush down her throat. for some reason, that excited her. making her want more. soon one drink turned into two, then three, four, five.

"areum slow down, i thought you didn't even like drinking" akemi said taking the sixth shot out of her best friends hand. at this point doyoung and his friends had left the two girls alone. stating they had some business to handle. leaving akemi to deal with her drunk friend that was about to pass out.

"okay, i'm going to take you home now" akemi said trying to lift areum up causing her to drop to the ground as she passed out.

"damnit areum" akemi said through gritted teeth.

as akemi bent down to pick up her petite friend. a gun shot was fired. causing akemi to freeze in place. she heard people screaming her name, to people screaming in agony to get out of the house. akemi looked up and made eye contact with a pair of eyes that were unforgettable. next thing she knew, she felt a burning sensation on the back of her head. then, saw nothing but black.
