Violet's POV

My heart beats faster and faster every second that is passing. I don't look around. The people standing next to me, in front of me, as well as behind me, we all have the same fate. We are going to be wiped off, off this earth today. I don't want to see their faces. Some are vampires, there are witches and other creatures of supernatural being but somehow werewolves were able to control us all. Just staring at my shoes I thought about the last hours. I suddenly come to the realization that none of my family and friends know that I will die today. It is better that way though. Maybe they'll just think I moved away. I could never forget them for the last hours of my life. A single tear rolled down my cheek.

I sighed. Just don't think about it. My inner voice told me. I don't want to die thinking of anything else than the nature we are getting released into every second now. At least that's what we get. A death in a beautiful place.

"10" The countdown begins and my heart stops for a second.
"9" I breathe in.
"8" Hold my breath.
"7" Breathe out.
"6" The high pitched voice gives me goosebumps.
"5" All fears fall off.
"4" I feel free.
"3" I brush a strand of hair behind my ear.
"2" My thoughts clear out.
"1" The bell rings and the doors open at "0".

They want us to run now. To have the last bit of control and decide about the exact moment we will die.

I stand still while everyone else runs for their life. They whip past me and my hair blows up with the passing wind. It feels like slow motion. I stare at the green forest infront of me, the mosquitoes and flies dancing around while people run by, it all feels so surreal.
The feeling lasts for a couple of seconds.
But then I run. I want to catch that slight glimmer of hope to survive. Even if I die, in the end I tried my best surcome that circumstance.

It's been about half an hour now. The doors of the punishers will open soon. I stop running for a moment. The sun shines in my face and I close my eyes. Just for a moment I feel like the world is alright. Nothing else matters but those little rays of sunshine glistening through the trees and shining onto the leaves and the autumn soil.
As I open my eyes the world looks different. In front of me stands the most terrifying creature I have ever seen.

How could I not hear it? When did they open the doors?
It's head is that of a wolf. Down to the chest it is a human body but all hairy. It's legs look like that of a wolf but he is only standing on two. Horrified I stare into his eyes. Not the right move. He growls and claws at me. I try to stumble away but too late. He has already clawed at my face. Before I can even realize it, the beast has rounded me and chunks out a part of flesh from my back. I feel it hanging down, mixing up with the torn shirt. Screaming in agony I fall to the floor. My back must be teared open and I feel blood running down my sides.

Suddenly the beast runs away whimpering and I hear giant feet racing towards me paired up with a loud and fearful roar. A wave of power comes with them.
Suddenly the world seems warmer and I am growing tired. Just sleeping for a little while would be a good idea.

The giant comes to a halt in front of me and I look up smiling slightly. He falls down by my side, whatever the reason might be. It's eyes are wide awake and a dark amber colored shade. "I'm tired." I whisper and want to close my eyes.
"No way I'm going to let you slip away mate." He growls and attempts to carefully pick me off the floor. "The sun is so dark, is it night now?" I whisper and my eyes drop. But suddenly I feel a jolt of electricity and cry out. Something touched my back. The same time I cry out I hear almost apologizing whimpering.

I remember the pain, the wound, what I am here for again and try to wiggle away with my last strength. "Please." I whisper. "Just help me, you can be good." As if it was a secret I put my finger up to my lips and mumble "but ssssh don't let them notice." The man holding me grunts and the world starts spinning. My body is getting lighter. Maybe I can fly soon? "How old are you?" His deep voice sends shivers down my body. Not the bad kind though. If I am not mistaken there is an incredible amount of pain in his voice at the same time though.
"Seventeen." The corners of my mouth slightly turn upwards and just as he starts cursing and begins to run the world turns black and empty.
