Warnings: crying, lots of crying

"Look Peter..."

"..I just don't think you're the one for me.."

"..please god know that I'm sorry it has to be this way.."

Peter kept reading and rereading the text message that he awoke to see, struggling to comprehend it, before finally, after reading it around seven times, understood what his now exgirlfriend was saying.

He calmly changed her name from "My girl <3" back to just "Mj" and set his phone down, walking out of his room. "Peter honey what's wrong?" Aunt May asked the boy, noticing he was upset, "S-she broke up with me." he mumbled, "What?" she asked, "She broke up with me." Peter said a little louder, and starting to cry.

"Oh sweetie.." May said pulling the teen into a hug as he began to sob. "What happened?" she asked softly as she wiped his tears with her thumbs, "We-we got into an argument last night and when I-I woke up I planned on calling her to a-apologize and when-when I woke up all I saw was-was a text message from her May! All I got was a text!" Peter cried as he buried his head against his aunts shoulder.

"Honey.." May said sadly, knowing how much her nephew loved and cared about the girl, she was truly unsure of what she could say to help him.

*RING RING*

"Hey man, I just saw Mj and she was crying, is everything okay?" Ned said through the phone, "She was crying..?" Peter asked, visibly showing concern for the girl, "Yeah she was, is everything okay between you two?" Ned answered, growing more concerned for both his friends since he could tell Peter was crying, "Oh..we-we broke up this morning.." Peter said sadly, letting more tears roll down his face, "Dude.. I am so sorry.." Ned said sadly, "Are you still coming to school today? If you're not don't worry about it, I'll get your work." Peter sighed and looked at the clock, seeing that he has forty-five minutes to get school, he decided to go, "Yeah man I'll be there. Try and make her feel better for me, I don't want her crying." Peter said and hung up the phone, knowing Ned will take care of her.

"Pete, honey, you don't have to go if you don't want to." May said as Peter took deep breathes in order to stop crying, "I know but I need to go." he said as he stood up to start getting ready.

At school...

Peter walked into the building, his earbuds in his ears "Chasing Cars" playing at full volume, his eyes immediately looking for her but remembering the events of this morning, tears filled his eyes once again.

He walked up to his locker, pulling his backpack around to unload his textbooks, but seeing her cardigan. The two would often switch jackets since they wore the same size and it was always fun to joke about how Peter would look better in Mj's cardigan, than Mj herself to which Peter would always say she looked better in his jackets than he did.

He pulled the jacket out of his bag, tears welling in his big brown eyes, as he held it close to him, breathing in the scent of her perfume, before closing his locker and going to find her to return it.

His eyes scanned the library until he finally found her, and everything started to echo. He didn't fully notice what was going on until she was in front of him, book in hand, and he tapped her shoulder. Mj turned to see Peter holding her jacket and she looked up at him, eyes red from crying, and saw tears in his own eyes as he set the jacket down and made eye contact with him.
