Olivia’s POV:

I mumbled the name to myself so that Justin couldn’t hear clearly.

Then he said, “What? I can’t hear you?”

I gave him a worried look and said, “It was Ryan. As in your best friend Ryan.”

Justin looked up at me and I could tell that he was hurt with the look in his eyes. He held both of my hands and said, “Olivia, I love you, but you’re going to have to forgive me for doing this.”

Then he ran towards the direction on Ryan’s locker. I knew exactly what he was going to do.

I ran after Justin and shouted, “STOP!!! JUSTIN STOP!!”

I tried picking up my speed, but then I almost tripped so I slowwed down a bit. Once I reached Ryan’s locker, Justin was already punching Ryan in the face and the stomach and everywhere else he could reach. Then he pulled away from Ryan and said, “WHY DID YOU KISS OLIVIA?”

Ryan gave me a puzzled look and said, “I’m sorry. But I like her too.”

Justin started punching Ryan again so I ran towards them and tried to pull the apart.

I screamed, “JUSTIN LET HIM GO!! STOP HURTING HIM!”

Justin looked at me with disbelief. Then he said, “Oh, so you like him now right? Alright Olivia. Now you have Ryan slut. Just run along to another guy right after one.”

Then Justin found a open locker slammed it and ran out of the school. I dropped to the floor and started crying. Everyone was staring at Ryan and me. We were in the middle of the school, and everyone was gathered around us. I wiped my tears and got up. Then I just walked to my own locker and opened it.

I fished around my locker trying to find a note that Justin left for me today.

I found a piece of paper stuck between my books. I pulled it out and opened the piece of paper.

It said,

“You know who it is. Love you, and have a good day.”

I cried to myself knowing that Justin and I were done. I couldn’t lose him now. Especially since I’m running for PROM queen. Everyone’s going to laugh at me and I’m not going to know how to take the humiliation. I needed Justin. Not just now, but I needed him in the future.

I closed my locker and walked to the cafeteria with my bag resting on my shoulder.

I walked into the cafeteria and got onto the line to get lunch. I picked up a bowl of pasta and picked watermelon juice. I paid the lunch lady and went to the table that Justin and I always sat at to eat lunch.
