Saved Once Again (Nalu)

Chapter 3

When we arrive we check in and we put all of our stuff in our room and get ready for the beach.

We swim, splash each other, run around, play in the sand, and have water fights for a few hours." Hey guys, I'm going back to our room." I call to them, but I doubt they heard me.

I head to our room and shower. When I get out I get dressed and lay down on the bed, I chose closest to the balcony. I look out of the window for a while until I hear someone come in. I turn around and see that it's Levy.

"Hey." I greet her.

"Hey Lu." She replies.

"Is everyone still at the beach?" I ask.

"Yep. I'm going to shower." She replies.

"Ok." I turn back around and continue looking out the window and dig through my bag to find the book I borrowed from Levy. After a while of reading everyone else comes in.

"I'm so tired."

"There's so much sand."

"I'm freezing."

I hear them all complain.

"Hey Luce, when did you get back?" Natsu asks as he plops down on the bed next to mine.

"I don't know. Maybe an hour ago." I reply.

"Well we should get some sleep, we have another day of things to do." Erza announces.

"Don't have to tell me twice." Happy says as he lies down at the end of Natsu's bed and falls asleep almost instantly.

"Well someone was tired." I laugh.

"He's not the only one." Gray comments. I look over and see Natsu fast asleep as well. I have to admit, he looks pretty cute when he's sleeping. He looks peaceful.

~5 hours later~

I jolt up in the middle of the night and remember the dream I just had, well more of a nightmare.

It was of my dad neglecting me as a child. It wasn't rare for me to have these kind of dreams. I look over at Natsu, who is still sleeping, as is everyone else. I sit there for a second then I decide to I out onto the belcony and look at the stars. I go out and I climb on the railing and sit down swinging my feet over the edge. After a few minutes I hear someone else come out.

"Hey Lucy, what are you doing out here?" I look over and see Natsu in the door way.

"I'm looking at the stars. Sorry, did I wake you up?"

"No, I uh. Happy bumped into me and I woke up." He says after a second.

I could tell it was a lie, but I let it go.

"I don't get how people can see constellations in the sky. There's so many stars, doesn't it get confusing?" Natsu said changing the subject as he walks over next to me.

"It's not that hard once you get into it." I laugh when I saw how confused he looked as he looked up at the stars. I start showing him constellations that I can see in the sky and explaining how I can tell it's them. I'm pretty sure he wasn't paying attention, but I didn't care.

When I finished we just looked at the stars admiring the beauty. After a while I feel his eyes on me and I feel my face heat up and slightly turn my head hoping he doesn't notice.

I was still swinging my legs and all of a sudden I slipped and almost fell, but Natsu quickly grabbed me from behind and pulled me back over the railing.

"Are you ok?" He asks as he sets me down on the ground.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks." He doesn't say anything after that. We just stare at each other and eventually he starts to lean in.

"Hey, what's going on out here." We both jump back and I look over to see Levy in the door way smiling.

"Uh, n-nothing. It's not what it looks like." I stammer.

She laughs." Sure it's not." She smiles and winks at me before going back inside.

"Well, we should get back inside." Natsu says after a few second of silence.

"Yeah." I agree.

We both walk in and lie down. I'm facing away from Natsu but I can tell his eyes are on me. I try to go to sleep but I just keep thinking about our almost kiss. I roll over and Natsu and I make eye contact, but he quickly looks away and rolls over. I smile to myself and close my eyes.

Do I like Natsu like that? As more than a friend?
