Chapter 2
"You know, I was expecting 2-3 bodyguards surrounding you when I first got to know you were in Alfea with us. However, will wonders ever cease? "Ayano said ....
"So what else did u guys assume about me, huh?"I asked conversationally. It had been 2 days since I got to know them and I was growing very close to them, something which I was really scared of.....
"Well, we assumed you would be a snooty, spoilt, rich brat. You know how some people act when they can do whatever they want with all the power they have in them?"
"And?"
"Well your nothing like that, you're a simple girl with a lot of qualities unknown to yourself!"
'Yah! You can beat us in a game single-handed, but I have a feeling that your great in group work too" Jazz put in.
"Thank you, I'm honored that you guys think so highly of me. Now let's go for dinner I'm hungry,"
After they left, I stalled in my bedroom for a while, went to my wardrobe, and removed a newspaper clipping. Tears ran down my cheeks and onto the clipping. I quickly stuffed it back into it's original place, freshened up and went down for dinner.
3 months later...
As the snowball hit me on the face, I turned and threw another snowball at my attacker: Jake. It was December, snow was falling lightly, but we, the only seniors out, were having a lot of fun, I felt left out, my friends were always talking in code but when I came to close, the changed the topic quickly!
Today was my birthday, but since I had not told anyone I was not expecting anything.
4 hours later, we were red in the face, our eyes twinkling and full energy. We left to go to our dorms to get changed as the bell tolled six 'o clock.
As I went up, Alice told me to take my time dressing up for dinner. I went, had a wash, and changed into the clothes Alice had left for me on the bed.
It was a black strapless, v back gown with silt until my thighs. I had worn black stilettos and a Black Diamond set with matching earrings, ring, chain and bracelet.
"It is a new dawn celebration, you have to look your best" I quoted Alice.
As I entered the passageway to the great hall, I saw all lights were dim and went I entered the great hall there was a black out. "Hello anybody here" I asked to the empty hall, where were everybody? As the thought is passed my head, the lights came on, and I heard an uproar :"Surprise" they said. A cake was wheeled in, I was speechless. The great hall was decorated with magical lanterns floating everywhere. On the side of the hall, written in bold with magical letters was
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATALIA".
I was stunned. There was nothing, I could say or do. There were dozens of emotions flickering through me. A tear trickled down my cheek and I wiped it away. In front of me, I spotted some familiar faces. I ran to them and gave them a hug. They were all grinning like crazy.
"So, how was it? Hoped you liked it?" Jasmine said
"We went through a lot of trouble to hide it from you!" Kazuma said.
"C'mon say something already, will you?" Emmet said with a chuckle.
"What do you'll expect me to say? You all are stupid. You did not have to do this for me. I do not deserve this."
" Of course you deserve it. You're a very special friend of ours."
"This is just perfect. No one has ever done anything like this for me. Thank you guys so much. This means a lot to me."
As the night went on, it turned out to be one of my best night of all life. We celebrated all night long. Then the ten of us went to my dorm to speak and chat. As we entered, I saw Fawkes, my phoenix, perched on the headboard of my bed. He had a letter tied to his clawed feet.
