Chapter 1.

They say being popular is fun? Really, it’s not. Everyone expects you to be perfect and when you’re not, you get kicked out of their group.  But High school is different to middle school. High school is where the real shit is at. There is a hierarchy, unlike middle school where everyone is on the same playing field.

At the top of the food chain there are the bad girls and bad boys. Theses teens are the scariest looking people in school, jam-packed head to toe in tattoos, have the biggest muscles you’ve ever seen and glares that will have you running home crying.

A level lower are the Jocks and Cheerleaders who have the wide range of behaviours starting from the cliché sluts; who sleep with just about everyone in the school. The players; who every single girl thinks can change him but they can’t. The cocky guys; that think they can get with just about anyone and last but not least the rare two or three nice guys that act like dicks to fit in.

After these are the Bullies, they act all tough but go weak in the knees when they have anything to do with the bad guys.

Then comes the average people. They take up most of the schools population. The average students usually don’t have anything to do with class work and rather listen to music or text others.

Next, you guessed it, the Geeks and Nerds. The smartest people in school. No one really likes them unless they do your homework for a reasonable price, which is about 5-20 dollars depending on which person you ask.

And finally there’s the lowest of the low. We call ourselves Invisible because, well, it’s kind of true. We walk around school with unknown names, even the teachers don’t take note of our names. In this group there is only about 4 or 5 people, none of which anyone knows about.

My name is Kelly King and I can assure you that 99 percent of students at my school have no idea who I am. I have blue eyes, blonde hair, I’m pretty short at five foot 3 (160 cm). I guess I’m a normal weight, I’m not the slimmest but then again I’m not chubby and I’m almost 17 years old.

“Kelly, get your ass down here and make me a damn egg sandwich. I’m starving woman!” That’s my twin brother, Marcus. He is a bad boy but he secretly has a heart of gold. He has been so goddamn protective of me ever since my parents passed away when we were 12 years old. We ‘live’ with our aunt Bethany who is barley around because she is always away on business trips.

“The monster in my stomach is growling! We need to feed it! Come on Kelly, make me something to eat before I starve to death.” Here he goes again…

I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen.

“Can’t you make your own sandwich?” I snap at him.

“Kell…” he whines “I’m not good at making food and you know that… Remember that time when I burned easy mac in the microwave. Oh, and when I put too much salt on my eggs, and remember that time wh-” I cut him off before he could continue ranting.

“I get it, I get it.” I quickly make his stupid sandwich and just as he goes to eat it, I snatch it out of his hands.

“What do you say?” I smirk at him.

His stomach grumbles before his next reply. “You’re my beautiful sister and I love you…”

“And?” I question, waiting for him to continue.

“And you are the most talented girl I know…”

“And?” I drag on.

“Oh shut up and give me the sandwich.”

“Not until you say the last part.”

He whispers something I can barely hear.

I smirk up at him. “Oh, what was that? I couldn’t hear you.”

“And if any guy ever hurts you I swear to God they won’t be able to walk straight ever again.”

“Why is that?” I ask.

“Because I will kick them so far up the ass that they will be able to taste my toe jam!” He growls.

I giggle, kiss him on the cheek and then hand him his sandwich.

He sighs and says a quiet ‘thank you’ before leaving to watch some tv.

I seriously don’t think he could live without me.
