Josh straightened his tie as he got ready for the fancy date his boyfriend had planned for them. He was so excited, as it was their 3 year anniversary, and they were going to a fancy restaurant in commemoration of that.

Josh looked out the door and didn't see his boyfriend, whom he was expecting, since he had said to Josh that he would come get him at his door.

"JJ?" Josh called out as he sat down on the edge of his bed, carefully trying not to crease it. "JJ?!" Josh called out again, this time standing up.

Josh huffed, walking out the door and down the stairs.

"Shh, ok I have to go I'm sorry." Josh heard as he walked around the stairs.

Josh carefully looked through the doorway of where the noises were coming from.

And he couldn't be more shocked in horror and sadness.

"JJ?!" Josh yelled as he saw the picture before his eyes.

JJ was in Vik's room, no shirt on, while Vik was in his bed, most likely completely naked.

JJ had cheated.

Josh couldn't, didn't, want to hear anything his now-ex had to say, as he was too furious and shocked at that sight.

Josh ran down the stairs and out the front door, not listening to yelling behind him. It was pouring outside, which reminded him every time of how he met JJ.

It was years ago, when Josh was 17, and he had a big fight with his parents. And it feels the same to Josh. The exact same thing.

The disbelief of what he just saw/heard, the yells, the sadness, and crying, the emptiness.

It was all flowing back to Josh.

*Flashback*(Age 17)

Josh ran out of his parent's house, not listening to their yelling to him.

They had just told that they were getting a divorce, after years of therapy and Josh trying to keep them together.

It was tough on any kid, and Josh was no exception.

Josh ran down the street, as he didn't have a car at the moment, and kept running and running as far and fast as he could.

Josh's tears mixed with the rain, but he didn't care. All he felt was emptiness.

After years of battling with depression and not opening up to his parents, he finally got over it just in the last couple of months.

But Josh's thoughts were all over the place. He didn't care about anything at that moment and just wanted it all to end.

That's when he spotted the bridge.

It was hanging over a river that, since the rain had started, was flowing a lot more then. Josh didn't think, he didn't care. He ran over to it, and stood up on the slippery slope.

And then, right when he was about to jump, and hand grabbed him.

"NO!" They shouted, but Josh didn't see who it was until he had fallen, the opposite way. Back toward the road.

Josh had closed his eyes until he felt the concrete around him and a body holding him. Josh turned to him with sad eyes.

"Y-You almost jumped. I-I-" The boy, Josh knew, was in the same grade he was, who's name was JJ. And by the way he had acted, never saw someone do what Josh had done.

That's when Josh broke down again.

"I-I'm sorry. I-I don't know what to do. I have nothing. My parents- I have nothing." Josh cried as the boy hugged him, even though they were getting soaked all around.

"Shh. It's okay. Why don't we- go back to mine. Yeah? I have a roommate as well, and if you'd like, you can stay awhile with us." JJ said and Josh cried again against his chest, nodding.

"T-Thank you."

*Flashback end*

Josh walked along the same bridge he remembered from 8 years ago. And it all came flooding back like all this water.

He looked below the bridge and saw the water flowing down the river, the sound of it being cut out by the rain.

Josh sat on the bridge and turned around so he was facing the water. He looked down and saw his life just flowing away.

If he just jumped.

"Sir?" Josh heard behind him and he saw a man with blonde hair looking at him. He had gotten out of his car and now had an uncomfortable face as the cold rain showered him.

Josh didn't reply, but just turned back. He'd wish the man to leave except he really did want to talk to someone. Anyone.

"I-um. Are you ok?" The man spoke but immediately he regretted his words. Of course Josh wasn't okay and he knew that. But Josh could tell, like JJ, he didn't really know how to deal with situations like these.

"Do I look like-" Josh was about to ask in a hypothetical and sarcastic way but he felt like it wasn't the time. Or the place. "N-No. I'm not ok. I'm anything but ok." Josh finally said and looked at the man who had moved a little closer.

"So, why don't you get down from there, and we can talk about it. I can let you borrow some dry clothes, we can go to the nearest coffee shop, and talk." Josh smiled at the thought. That actually sounded nice. Josh noticed the man had gotten his confidence back.

"Okay." Josh said and turned around from the ledge, stepping off it.

"I'm Simon." Simon said and had his hand out for Josh to shake. But instead, Josh took Simon in for a hug, resting his hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you." Simon smiled and hugged him back.

"You're welcome."

The two got in the car and drove away, talking on the way to Simon's apartment.

Right after they left, a car stopped at the bridge and out popped JJ, his eyes wide as he couldn't find Josh.

"JOSH?!" JJ yelled and looked all around the bridge, yelling for Josh. "NO, NO, NO!" JJ yelled as he felt his phone buzz.

Josh❤️:  Someone found me. I'll be away for a bit. Just wanted to let you know I'm not dead.

JJ couldn't believe his eyes as he sat down on the wet ground.

"I'm so sorry."
