Life in the village is uneventful. That's what Sora- no, Kohana-thinks. Compared to the life she once lived, this life is peaceful. Despite the fact that human sculptures were scattered all over the place, she never really thought about anything. This life is simple and repetitive, yet the female never tried doing anything to change it. Why?
"It seems that you truly love resting here huh, daughter?" Came the voice of her father. The blonde turned to look at the origin of the voice only to see her father staring at her, raising a brow at the older man before turning back to look at the scenery in front of her. "I've been seeing you up here lately; is there something bothering you?" He asked in a curious yet worried tone.
Which made the child look back at him once again: "I like it here. On top of the priestess' hut, you can see everything." Kohana answered, gesturing to the free seat beside her, "How the youngsters my age go out and play, how the adults go out of the village and hunt, and lastly, how the elders interact with one another despite their age." The young female added.
"I see..." The man trailed off as he took a seat beside his daughter, his eyes never leaving her small figure as she continued to observe the village with a serene look plastered on her usually neutral face. Kokuyo knows that his daughters are all different from one another; his oldest, Ruri, is a complete ball of sunshine who will inherit the priestess position once she reaches a certain age. His second, Kohaku, is the rambunctious of the three; despite being naughty at times, she possesses the qualities of becoming a great fighter, and lastly, his third, Kohana, is the most mysterious of the three.
Not saying that he doesn't know anything about his third child, but it can appear that way as well. The child is always wearing the same old blank expression almost all the time, which concerns him a lot. He once tried asking why she's usually wearing such a dull-looking expression, but the child merely dismissed it by saying she got used to it. She never really tried to show herself much; she merely stood by the sidelines, silently supporting.
This is the first time he ever saw her wear any other expression other than her usual dazed one. Kokuyo gently patted her youngest's head. "Father, is something the matter?" The child wondered, her eyes leaving the scenery she's been staring at just to look at the older. "Ah, it's nothing. It's just that, I'm relieved," he uttered, to which the female smiled. The child stood up from her sitting position before embracing her father tightly.
"Is that so?" Kohana says, upon seeing the smile. Kokuyo already knows. The man understands. He hummed in response as he too wrapped his arms around the child. The children in the village stared at the pair in utter awe; they saw everything. Kohaku smirked. "See?" She uttered smugly, "My twin is not emotionless." The girl states as she sticks out her tongue towards her friends. Seeing this exchange, Ruri let out a chuckle before once again eyeing her father and sister.
"Still... Isn't it weird to see her capable of sitting there when she's as small as us?" Ruri noted, which piqued the interest of the others, "That's right, that is quite strange. Unless her feet are strong as hell, Well, since Kohana is Kohaku's twin, I guess that's normal." Chrome chimed in before earning a punch from the mentioned female. "Hmp! My sister is as fragile as a flower!" She exclaimed with pride.
The brown-haired male glared with tears trickling down from the corner of his eyes. "Mind explaining how your fragile as a flower sister was able to climb up on top of the hut without any help from the adults then, lioness!" Chrome exclaimed, which Kohaku immediately pounced on.
Ruri was about to stop the two but was beaten by Kohana, who swiftly separated the two from one another. "Why are the both of you suddenly fighting again?" The newcomer questioned, one of her brows raised, arms crossed on her chest as she eyed the two. Kohana's intense gaze made the three children unknowingly shiver. "Ah! Hana-chan, we were merely playing! It's a play; it's a play!" Kohaku interjected, sweating bullets.
Chrome, who heard this, immediately nodded in agreement, "Yes! We're only playing!" He desperately exclaimed. The newcomer merely eyed the two suspiciously before standing down. "If you both say so, I guess," Kohana uttered.
And with that, the three continued playing while the third child of Kokuyo merely stared at them in the distance. Life is simple here in this new world, and the female never minded it- but instead indulged herself in peace.
