"kim taehyung. my name is kim taehyung."

so-hyun nodded. even though she still didn't understand how he knew her, his voice had a sense of familiarity. nonetheless, she was upset that he stopped her from freeing herself.

"i don't even know you, why did you stop me?! i was so close!"

taehyung seemed surprised that she was upset, though he could understand that she was upset at him interrupting her. he could understand, but he didn't regret stopping her at all.

he had been on his way back home from his job when he saw her, lee so-hyun, his childhood love, standing on the edge of the bridge he walks on everyday on his way home.

taehyung could tell right away that it was her.

"i wasn't just going to let you jump off a bridge right in front of me. are you alright? let me walk you home."

so-hyun wanted so bad to reject him, but the desperate look on his face was too strong for her. she sighed, "fine, but we are going to finish this talk when we get there."

he didn't show it, but he was grateful she accepted. he would've been so worried if she had to go home on her own after she tried to kill herself. he knows what it feels like to not have enough strength to want to survive. it feels like your drowning, like you can't even stand the idea of getting out of bed in the morning.

that feeling of hopelessness, it takes over.

as they are walking home, so-hyun is holding herself together with the only strength she has left, hoping it will be enough to get her home. the silence between the two is giving her anxiety.

"how did you know my name?"

taehyung was startled by the sudden question, but quickly answered.

"you don't remember me, but we were childhood friends." he hesitated to add on, but felt that it would be rude to not tell her. "we were always together until your family's accident. when you went to live with your aunt, she wouldn't let me see you. she blamed me for what happened because they were coming to pick you up from my house when the accident happened."

shocked, so-hyun stumbled over her words, "w-what? i don't remember...why wouldn't i remember?! i want to remember!!"

"i want to be the one that helps you remember. will you let me?"

so-hyun wanted to know so much more, she wanted to know everything, and who better to help with that than taehyung?

"yes."
