Young Mi's Point Of View

"Our goal this week is to have zero food waste," Ms. Maeng said. "When you get lunch, take only what you can eat and finish all of it, okay?"

"Yes!" We answered. Mr Choi opened the classroom door and poke his head in holding a basket of flowers.

The students chanted for him to confess his love to Ms. Maeng. "Mr. Choi, I flusters me if you suddenly do this. I'll accept it for now, but when the kids are watching-" The teacher got cut off by Mr. Choi.

"No, this aren't for you, they're for Bae Shin-Ae in Class One." He looked around and his eyes landed on Shin-Ae as she raised her hand. "Hey, who sends these kinds of things to school in the morning? The security guard brought this to the teacher's office. And now I have to deliver this to you? Take it,"He said annoyed.

"Mr. Choi, are you jealous because no one likes you?" I asked raising my hand.

He turned around quickly and pointed at me, knowing it was me in an instant,"Hey you shouldn't be talking! Ever since I met you I haven't seen you date anyone." I scoffed and rolled my eyes then waved my hand dismissively. He walked out and slammed the door. 

"Wow the tigress sure knows how to speak her mind."

Shin-Ae takes her seat and places the flowers on her desk. She sees a note and takes it,"Oh there is a note"Soo-Ji said taking it. Snatching the card back Shin-Ae says she'll read it later. "Stop showing off, you think I've never gotten one of these before?"

"Soo-Ji sending yourself gifts doesn't count," I said from behind her. She turned around and rolled her eyes before going back to her seat.

Students were standing and talking to their friends when the principal came in they rushed to their seats. "Why is it so noisy in here? Who's your teacher, you don't even get good grades. Are you at school to play or study?"He said massaging his neck with a roller.

We stayed quiet then the door in front of the class opened. The principal had come back in, "This class is quiet. You guys probably get good grades, all right,"He nodded and closed the door after he left. We all broke out laughing.

Ji-Na and I walked out to the vending machines and bought a drink to share while we were on a break. As we walked down the stairs we ran into the Seo brothers.

My sister pulled me down to the last step and went to look at Jae-Yi's face which had a band-aid on it. "Jae-Yi, what happened?"

"Oh this? I was standing at the crosswalk yesterday and someone suddenly pushed me." He looked down and touched his cheek.

"What? Who was it?" I asked concerned, switching to stand next to Ro-bin.

Jae-Yi looked at me,"I don't know, He just pushed me and left."

Ji-Na glanced at him before looking at the ground,"It must have been a close call. Did you catch him?"

"Oh Ji-Na, why would he go after someone who already tried to hurt him?" I asked her.

Jae-Yi tapped my shoulder,"Actually I went after him, but I only saw his face."I looked at him and stepped to him, smacking him on the arm.

"Are you crazy? What would you have done if he had a gun or something? For someone so smart you're really an idiot!"

The bell rang and we headed to class, I pulled Ro-bin back as Ji-Na and Jae-Yi kept walking. The halls were empty,"Sorry Ro-bin, I didn't know if you wanted your brother and my sister to hear but thank you for last night. The fries were really good and I feel bad for not giving you anything to return so I wanted to ask if you wanted to go out and I can buy you a drink..." I played with the bottom of  my shirt wrinkling he clothes.
