"Kitty!" Leighton called Kitty's name, which made Kitty turned around to see her best friend slightly running.
"Leigh! I thought you're not coming to school today." Kitty said as Leighton finally reached her.
"Yeah, Dad cancelled the flight. He had an important meeting." Leighton shrugged.
Everyone's attention was on them, it always is. They both are popular, not because they love to make drama, but because, well, they're rich. Leighton's Dad is the owner of the most popular restaurant in Australia, and her mother owns a clothing line.
Kitty's Mom is a famous fashion designer, and her father is an architect. Her name isn't actually 'Kitty', it's Katherine. Instead of using Kate, Kathy, or Katy, she chose to use Kitty.
"Morning, ladies." Someone wrapped an arm around Kitty's shoulder.
"Guys, it's still early." Leighton slightly laughed, "Yeah, Calum, get your hands off me." Kitty protested.
Calum turned to Leighton, "Party pooper." And he began to fake-pouting.
"You know that if you need a hug, you could always come to Michael, right?" Kitty mocked, and Calum rolled his eyes.
They all walked into their first class, Calculus. "Mikey!" Leighton squalled the moment she saw Michael, "I missed you!"
"Hi, Leigh. I missed you either." Michael gave Leighton a smile.
Calum sat beside Michael and Leighton sat in front of them and Kitty sat beside Leighton."How was Spain?" Kitty asked, turning around to face Michael.
"Hot girls are everywhere!" Michael stated, earned a laugh from Calum.
"You do one?" Calum asked, "Hell yeah I am!" Michael said proudly, and they high-fived.
"What's wrong with dudes nowadays?" Kitty asked, shaking her had.
Tiffany and Luke came into the classroom, and took a seat in the corner of the classroom.
Even though it has been 9 months, but Leighton still couldn't let it go. She still couldn't let Luke go.
"Hey, man." Calum greeted Luke. They were buddies, they all were. Until a skank named Tiffany ruined their friendship.
Luke just nodded, he really wanted to sit near them, but his girlfriend wouldn't let him. She didn't allow him near them, near his best friend.
Leighton tried her hard not to stare, but she failed. She just didn't get how could Luke liked a girl like Tiffany. She always complained, it's like what Luke did was just never enough.
5 minutes later the bell rang, and a minute later Mr. Harris came in, with a boy following behind him.
"Hello, class. We got a new student today." Mr. Harris said as he sat down. "Introduce yourself, Ashton."
"H-Hello, everyone. M-my name's Ashton and I-I just mo-moved here fr-from London." Ashton kept his eyes on the floor while he introduced himself.
Leighton raised her eyebrow, "If you're from London, then why don't you have british accent?" She asked, and Kitty gasped, "Oh my god Leighton, you couldn't just ask people why they don't have british accent!"
The students laughed, except for Ashton. "W-well, I'm ba-basically Australian. I only l-lived in London f-for a year." He said, still looking at the floor.
"Why won't you look at us, dude? We don't bite. Well at least not hard." Michael said, and Calum raised his eyebrow, "You did not just say that to a boy!" And the entire class laughed again.
"Enough, class. Ashton, you can sit behind Calum." Mr. Harris said, and pointed to a table at the back of the class. As Ashton walked, he didn't look at his classmates, he looked to the floor.
Kitty raised her eyebrows, "What's wrong with him?"
Leighton shrugged, "He's probably shy, you know, an introvert."
"But he's hot, a hot guy shouldn't be shy." Kitty protested, and Leighton chuckled.
Leighton couldn't focus on the Calculus because Kitty kept saying about how her mother got her the wrong purse.
Even though they are both rich, Leighton and Kitty has a very different personality. Kitty is the kind of girl who would spent her weekend on the mall, sometimes she even flew from Aussie all the way to California, Beverly Hills to shop.
On the other side, Leighton is the kind of girl who loved to spent her weekend on her bedroom, or the pool. But that doesn't mean she's boring, she's really outgoing. They're like Serena Van Der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf in real life.
Calum and Michael were also rich, but not as rich as Kitty and Leighton. They all were buddies since kindergarten. They met Luke on Junior High School, and people called them the Fantastic Five. Whenever they walked down the hallway, people would move to make space for the five of them. But now, it was just the four of them.
Since Luke dated Tiffany, his good popularity, gone. Now people called them the Fancy Four and the Pathetic Two. Tiffany loved the nickname Pathetic Two, because by that nickname, she knew she was still popular, that's why she was still dating Luke.
"Okay, class. Now I'm gonna separate you into a group of three," Kitty automatically looked at Leighton, and Mr. Harris noticed it, "I'm gonna choose your partners." And Kitty immediately pout.
"Calum Hood, Christian Browns, and Tiffany Hills." Mr. Hill said, and Calum groaned.
"Michael Clifford, Katherine Chambers, and Daniella Grey." Kitty turned around to face Michael, and smiled widely.
"Ashton Irwin, Luke Hemmings, and uh..." Mr. Harris eyes trailed down the paper to see the students' name, "Leighton Summers."
Leighton's jaw dropped, Calum and Michael grinned, Kitty closed her mouth with the palm of her hand, and Luke stayed calm, no, he tried to.
"Nice move, Sir!" Calum shouts and Michael laughed, followed by the entire class.
"Are you doing this on purpose, sir?" Tiffany slightly yelled
"Why would he, Tiff? Mr. Harris knew nothing, right sir?" Kitty defended, and Mr. Harris said, "Yeah, I have no idea what are you guys talking about."
Silence filled the class, until Mr. Harris said, "Okay, so what you have to do is to make 25 questions based on the lesson I just teach you. The deadline is next week."
The bell rang, and everyone got up from their seat and began to headed to their second period. Leighton's eyes caught Ashton who was still sitting in his seat, looking at a paper, confused.
Leighton made her way to Ashton's seat, "Do you need help?" And Ashton looked up from his paper, and she gave him a smile.
Ashton suddenly looked down again, "Kinda, y-yeah." And he gave Leighton the paper. "Your next class is Biology, same as mine. So, shall we?" Leighton said and Ashton nodded, getting up from his seat.
As they walked down the hallway, people were looking at them. Whispering something Leighton couldn't recognize. "Don't worry about them." Leighton said to Ashton, and he just nodded.
Luke leaned against the wall, looking at Leighton and Ashton, his hands in his jeans' pocket. He raised his eyebrow, and smirked. Hoping that they would end up together. Even though Leighton was his ex, he still wanted her to be happy without him. She was his everything, once.
But now, it's like they're strangers.
