"Okay, "I grinned at my twin brother, Evan.
We were making plans for tomorrow. We had had enough. Too many people are going missing. We have got to find them. I am very sure they are dead or dying right now. Last week, there had been some adults going missing and I was very concerned. It kept on continuing. My brother and I have wanted to become detectives since young. We had to take the initiative.
The next day, Mom kissed us good morning and after a hasty shower and breakfast my brother and I told our parents we would be walking to school instead of the car. We looked around stealthily and rushed to the nearby hub.
I started typing in my computer scrolling for information. My hood over my chestnut brown hair, I probably looked like the people in the shoplifting posters.
"I got some drinks from Starbucks," my brother settled in beside me.
I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but be grateful. The hasty breakfast had left me with a burning stomach. I sipped the frappe.
I looked at Evan. He had changed so much. I used to call him 'little brother' just because he was born 12 seconds after me. He used to be very mischievous. Now, he looked calm and mature. His brown hair glared in the sun, looking like gold and his blue eyes were warm and comforting.
"What?"he said, confused.
"What?"
"You are looking at me funny."
I realised I had been staring like an idiot. He looked like my reflection and seeing him makes me to remind myself how I look like.
"Nothing. I was just seeing how my little brother has grown up."
"I am your twin. I am just as old."
"Are not."
"Are too."
"Are not."
I realised we were nose-to-nose. My anger melted away and I started to laugh. How silly we both were? Never changed. He slapped my back and chuckled.
