We still had a few hours left before school ends. We do not want to go early and like our parents might be there and well ... they might get a fright. We decided to go to the library after a tedious day of promising and inquiring people. In the library, I looked back at my notes and did some research.
Maybe Noah could have hypothermia. Shit. I could have asked her but oh well, we do not have time to go back. And anyway, if he had wouldn't Kate have noticed it before? I did some logical reasoning while Evan started looking for clues to find out for Mrs Emily Brown. He still seemed a bit solemn about the promise he gave.
After finishing listing out the possibilities, I went to take a peek at who's house we will be going tomorrow. There was one left. I did not want to bunk school again because the school might suspend us or something but we had no choice. The police were so sloppy and only had marginal improvement in their findings. We were quicker than them and able to be easygoing with the interviewees.
Evan and I walked back home with our bags shouldered behind. I had better call Mackenzie and ask her what was homework so I could complete it.
I did what you know ... I told I was going to and our parents came.
We went down and Mum placed some food in front of us. Instant noodles, again. I stirred it with my chopsticks with bore and Evan kept on glancing at me nervously. It didn't seem like our parents knew so I just shrugged off.
"So? What happened in school?"
Heck, the simple parenting questions. Ugh!
"Yeah, good."
Evan and I said in unison and I rolled my eyes.
"How would you know? You weren't in school today."
