Dora the Explorer

~Two~

The jungle was loud. I could here birds singing, and monkeys swinging from tree to tree, making the branches shake like rattles on a snake. Elisia and Diego could be anywhere, maybe even separated from each other. I was only with Backpack because Issa and Map were trying to find Swiper. She said to me "Where are we going?" I said to her "We have to find Diego and Elisia, so keep your eyes open." We were walking for over an hour exploring the whole forest. Tree after tree, noise after noise, step after step, we found almost nothing. Soon after about thirty minutes, we took a rest and as I took a drink from my black canteen that Backpack held for me on the way, it got very quiet. No more sounds around me just silence... then I got up and pulled out my pistol from Backpack. I held it close enough that when something came at me I could shoot it in a second. Then Diego came out of a bush with cuts and bruises all over him. I almost shot but seeing him stopped me from accidentally killing him. I asked what had happened to him but as he walked to me he just fell on a pillow of grass and leaves. He woke up that night. "Hey", I said. He asked why I had been looking for him. I told him what happened to Boots, and that I needed Elisia to help too. He told me that she had gone missing too. I cried. I wanted to yell, but I realized not only would that attract predators but it wouldn't help us at all. We slept in a tree and he told me about Elisia "She was at the tree house while I went to help some animals in danger and when I got back she was gone and then half of the tree house blew up, smoke everywhere, and that's when Swiper's henchmen attacked me, there were too many of them but I got away before they pulled out their guns out." I felt bad and wished I could've been there to help. Then I realized that by morning the fire would be out and the smoke would be white so we could see it. I told him to get rest and we both fell asleep at the top of the tree. I had a nightmare that night. I was with Swiper, I was being held captive with Boots. He was threatening to kill Boots by having him tied to a chair and going to push him to the bottom floor of a four story building. Swiper kept telling me these exact words "Join me Dora and together we can take over the whole world and be the most powerful team of all." , I refused to his offer and he slowly walked towards Boots the last time I had said "no." , And he then said "If that's how it's going to be, then we just have to let him go." , Then he got a strong grip on Boots' neck choking him. I screamed at him to stop but I couldn't get out of the chair I was tied to or his henchmen's grip. Swiper then pushed Boots letting him go, falling so fast it was hard to count. I watched as the chair fell with Boots and then... silence, just silence was surrounding me. And Swiper told me "Have a good day Dora.",pointed a gun at my head and pulled the trigger. I woke up to the sound of the gun shot. Diego was still asleep. And I asked Backpack where my water and bandages were. She said we didn't bring them with us, they're in the jet. Morning came and Diego and I were on our way to find the tree house I told him to keep watch while I climb up to the top of the tree to see where the smoke was. Then I saw it about two miles away, and not only was it still burning but I heard gun shots and explosions and I knew something was wrong.
