Eva doesn't say anything to me while we make lunch, she just watches my movements, gives me small smiles and rubs my shoulder every time she passes by me. She knows what I'm thinking, and I'm grateful she isn't bringing it up. I don't feel like talking about it right now. Freddy's reaction to the idea of marrying me, had put a strain on my heart.
I know that we're not ready for marriage yet, and if he asked me right now I'm not sure what my answer would be. But I can't help feeling hurt by the way things had gone down in the studio. Biting my lip I cut through the last sandwich just as Eva pours the last glass of lemonade.
"Here darling, how about you go take this to Freddy. Us girls can eat out here." Eva smiles, handing my a glass and a plate.
"Okay." I nod, taking them from her hands. No matter how crazy Freddy's mom might be, she's still the sweetest most understanding woman I know. Better than my mother.
I drag out the walk back to the studio longer than I should. But I don't really want to talk to Freddy right now, even though we'll have to talk about this eventually.
"I'm putting your lunch on the table." I tell him. Freddy looks up from the paint tray and smiles at me. And before I can make it back out of the room he has me in his arms and I'm stuck.
"Hey princess." He whispers, placing kisses along my jawline and neck. Usually I would tilt my head and give him free access, but not today, not right now.
Placing my hands on his chest I push him back slightly. "Freddy, we can't do this right now." I hiss. He stops immediately and his eyes find mine, searching for my thoughts.
"A little PDA in front of my mother never bothered you before."
"Yeah, well it does today." His grip loosens and I slip out of his arms, but I don't manage to take any steps before Freddy grips my waist and pulls me back into him. His lips find mine. And even though I don't want to, I kiss him back. My hands tangle themselves in his hair and his hands push against my waist until I'm flat against the wall. Freddy uses his knee to part my legs so he can step in between them.
"Freddy." I say, wanting him to stop. But instead my words come out as a moan. "Freddy, stop." He does. Pulling his lips back from me, but he leaves his hands against my body.
"What's wrong Summer." He asks, eyebrows furrowed. I duck my head and look at our feet. This conversation didn't need to happen right now.
"Nothing." I lie, placing my hands onto his and removing them from my waist. "Nothings wrong, I'm just tired."
Freddy runs a hand through his hair and shifts his weight between his feet several times. "Are you acting this way because I didn't finish what we started this morning, because I thought you understood why we had to stop." I shake my head, finally looking up from the ground. Freddy cups my face in his hands. "Then what is it."
I don't say anything I just bite my lip, pulling the link skin through my teeth. Freddy's eyes find my lips and a strangled groan escapes his throat. "Please tell me Summer. You know I don't like it when your mad at me."
"I'm not mad at you."
Freddy huffs and drops his hands from my face. "Then what did I do?" I run my lips through my teeth again, and take a deep breath.
"Freddy? Summer? Is everything alright in there?" Eva yells down the hallway. Freddy curses under his breath and slams the door closed.
"Can we talk about this later?" I ask him, ducking under his arm and walking over to the door. And without waiting for his response I open the now closed door and make my way back to the kitchen where Eva is waiting.
