The room is dark when my eyes open, heavy with the weight of sleep. What time is it, and why was I awake? I sure wasn't ready to be awake this early in the morning. Sighing, I roll over and flip the pillow over to the cold side. There, now I can fall back asleep.
"Summer." Freddy groans. My eyes snap back open. Freddy has rolled over so that we are now face to face. His however, is scrunched with what looks like pain.
"What's wrong?" I ask, running a hand over my face to try and get rid of some of my sleepiness. I just want to go back to sleep, whatever this is can probably wait until morning.
Freddy groans and rolls onto his back. "My head. I think I have a migraine." That gets my attention. He's been having migraines for the last month, and they're always really bad.
"Do you want me to go get the Advil?" My voice still has grogginess laced through it, but I needed to be awake for Freddy right now. He nods and groans again. I lean down and give him a quick peck on his cheek before untangling myself from the sheets.
My feet pad quietly on the carpet floor as I cross over to the bathroom. Freddy groans again, and my heart floods with sympathy, he shouldn't have to go through this. At least not now in the middle of the night when we're both trying to get some sleep. My hand hovered over the light in the bathroom, debating if I should turn it on. But Freddy huffs loudly and rolls over in bed again.
Stumbling into the bathroom blindly, I reach out my hand to steady myself on the counter. The cabinet with the medicine is barley in my reach and I always have to stand on my toes to get the Advil. I wobble a bit, but manage to grab the bottle without any problems. But when I draw my hand out, something falls to the floor with a loud bang.
"Crap." I hiss, dropping to my knees to pick up the item. My hand closes around my brush, and my mind flies back to this morning when Freddy was distracting me by kissing my neck. I must've put it up here when he lifted me onto the counter, or he did.
I quickly place the brush back onto the counter, and scurry back over to the bed. Sitting down gently, I open the bottle and give Freddy one of the pills. Hopefully this will be enough for it to stop hurting so bad, just so he can sleep.
"Thanks." He breaths after gulping down some water from his glass on the beside table. I never understood why he needed to have a glass there every time he went to sleep. Some weird ocd thing or something. But I'm grateful now, because if it wasn't there, I would've had to go all the way to the kitchen. And I'm tired, and lazy. Especially lazy.
"No problem." I lean down to press a kiss to his forehead but Freddy tilts his head so our lips press together in a chaste kiss.
"I'm so lucky I have you." He gives me a faint smile, before wincing again.
I giggle slightly. "You sure are. Sometimes you can be a big baby."
"Haha. Just do that magic hand thing you do."
"Aren't you going to say please?" I laugh again. Freddy just shakes his head, grabs my hand and places it down on his head.
"Please." He grumbles, closing his eyes. A smile forms across my face. I love moments like these, where I can take care of him. He's always so concerned and protective of me, sometimes it's nice when the roles are reversed. Don't get me wrong, I hate seeing him in pain, but I love to take care of my baby.
I press down gently on his scalp and start to massage his head. "I think you should go see a doctor." I say bluntly.
"No."
"Yes. Freddy, you need medicine or something, I hate seeing you like this."
A smirk plays with the corner of his lips, and my eyebrow raises. "Mmm, so bossy."
"I wish you would just be compliant."
"I wish you were more bossy like this in bed."
My cheeks instantly heat up. "Go to sleep Freddy." My voice is tight, strained so I don't give away how deeply I'm blushing at his words. After almost a year he still affects me this way.
"Okay then Bossy Summer."
