"Are you going to tell me what's bothering you now Summer?" Freddy glances over at me. I bite my lip and turn to look out the car window.
"It's stupid." I tell him.
"Nothing that's making you upset is stupid Summer." His hand runs up and down my arm, Freddy's way of comforting me.
Taking a breath, I pivot in my seat so I'm looking right at him. "You'll think it's stupid." Freddy leans foreword and places a quick kiss on my lips.
"No I won't." He turns back to the road just as the light turns green. "Please tell me princess."
"Your reaction to your mom talking about marriage with me." Freddy quickly turns to look at me, his eyebrows are drawn in, and his eyes are sad.
The car is silent for a while. We both don't know what to say, but I wish he would say anything, just something would be better than the silence we're drowning in right now. Tears pool in my eyes, and I blink to try and get them to leave, but they don't. I hastily reach up to wipe them off my face before Freddy notices it. But he does. His strong hand reaches over to my hand that is wiping my face and pulls it down into my lap. He gives my hand a tight squeeze, and runs his thumb over my knuckles.
After we pull into the apartment's parking lot, I jump out of the car before Freddy has the chance to say anything. Maybe I just over reacted, and this entire thing is just some stupid fight that I caused. I tend to do that, cause fights that are useless and unnecessary. That's probably why Freddy was so hesitant about spending the rest of his life locked down to me.
"Summer." Freddy calls, following me out of the car. "Please come here and lets talk about it princess." I stop and turn to look back at him. I'm already halfway across the lot and to the door, and the cool wind is whipping across my body. The cold and I do not get a long very well. But I should talk to him, we need to solve this mess that I started.
Wrapping my arms around myself, I make my way back to him. Where Freddy wraps his arms around me and pulls me into a hug. "I'm sorry." I mumble into his shoulder.
"There's nothing to be sorry about, this is something we need to talk about." He kisses my forehead and then pulls back from the hug so he's looking me right in the eyes. "I love you Summer."
Tears stream to my eyes again, and I bow my head. Why do I have to be so emotional all the time. "I love you." I whisper. Freddy's delicate touch caresses my chin, and pulls it up so I'm looking at him again.
"I want to marry you Summer, but I'm...I'm not sure if you want to marry me." Surprise flickers across my face, and my eyebrows raise up.
"Of course I want to marry you Freddy, you're the only person I see in my future." A big grin spreads across Freddy's face and he pulls me into him. His lips got perfectly around mine, and soon were both lost in our kiss. I push Freddy so he's leaning on our car, and he pulls me so I'm laying my weight on him. His hands and both in my hair, clinging to me like it's the last time he'll ever get to see me. And my hands are gripping his jacket, pulling his lips deeper into mine.
A horn honks in the parking lot, scaring me. I jump out of his arms, heart racing. Freddy starts to laugh, and pulls me into a hug. And I can't help but laugh along with him.
