I draw Ricky, Steve, and Karl a lot so I'm finally doing an art book. I'll try to update it a lot, but I can already tell that school and stuff like that will be a burden. I hope you like my art! :)
Hello, all! How's quarantine going? I hope everyone is practicing self isolation and social distancing as they should!
My city put in a shelter-in-place thing a couple days ago, and I don't think I've left my house in about a week. Safest thing to do, I guess. So today, because of an idea I told ZorpytheDemon, I decided to make a quick little guide of all of AU Karl's tattoos, explaining them all and when he got them. Here's the little doodle type thingy I whipped up today.

(I totally messed up his chest tattoo, I forgot to make it curve back upward. Sorry if it looks kinda yucky.)
I put a deck of cards in front of his shoes because I thought the way I drew them was really sorta bad... So sorry for the inconvenience.
Anyway, let me explain his tats!

On his face, we have the word "OWNED" above his eyebrow, an upside down cross on his upper cheek, and a piece of barbed wire beneath his eye. He got the one above his eyebrow a little while after hooking up with Ricky and Steve for the first time. The cross is meant to signify his atheist beliefs, like the other band members. The barbed wire is meant to reflect on his jagged personality. On his neck I gave him a simple triangle for a sense of modernism. There are three sides to a triangle, three members of RiSK, and he has two siblings (three children altogether)... Good things really do come in threes.
On his chest, he has "SWEET HOME MANCHESTER" in that classic scrawly cursive font. Why? Because he's from there, duh! He never forgets his Mancunian roots. On his left arm he has a sleeve design I pulled from Google. I thought it was super trippy and almost steampunky! I don't know how exactly to draw flowers, so if you didn't know what all that was about, that's what it is. On his right arm, he has the Braille sign(?) for "I love you". Aww!
The most fun part about this were the knuckle tats. Aww, yeah! I couldn't really think of any eight letter phrases, but it struck me that there's a certain song lyric from a tune by The Who, one of Karl's favorites in this AU, so I tatted on "WHO'S NEXT". Badass and kinda hot.
And lastly, we have the French phrase "Tableaux vivant, roman a'clef". This is a song lyric from The Tragically Hip, another one of Karl's favorite bands and a huge influence on him. He got that one on the side of his torso (think under his armpit) after their frontman and singer Gord Downie passed away.
So yeah, that's basically that. Now, if you want to draw him, you don't have to get every single tat perfect! Experiment a bit, come up with new designs, have some fun with him! Karl is your canvas.
