Friday finally came and it was the first football game of the year. Our school starts the last week of August but our games don't start until the second week of September. Cameron was buzzing along with the rest of the school. I love football don't get me wrong but I don't share my excitement the way they all do. We had a pep rally during sixth period and the cheerleaders and dancers performed and the football team was introduced. My mom tried to get me to do school cheer but after my freshman year I decided I didn't want to do school and competitive cheer. School cheer is amazing but I just don't have the school spirit for it. I cheer at Top Gun Cheer on team Black Lightning with Carly(an: this is not a real team I made this up). School passed by and before I knew it Carly and I were at my house getting ready to go to the game. Even though I wasn't crazy about football I still went to as many games as I could. "Should I wear shorts or leggings?" Carly asked me while going through my closet. "Shorts. It's always hot outside." I was laying down in bed already dressed. I had on a football fan shirt that the football fan club sold along with jean shorts and my white high top converse. "Do you wanna drive or me?" Carly asked as we walked downstairs. "Um I'll ride with you and get a ride home later." We walked to her Honda Accord and got in. By the time we walked into the stadium it was packed and only 15 minutes until kickoff. "Finally you girls are here. You two take forever to get ready." Cameron said as we met up by the front gate at the stadium. We picked a random spot in the stands as the student section was too crowded. "Most of these people I have never seen before at our school." I told them while watching a huge group of girls try and sit by the student section. She nodded her head while glancing over the crowd when the buzzer rang to start the game. At halftime we were winning 21-7 and I went to get Carly and I popcorn. "Can I get two things of popcorn?" I asked the lady at the concession stands. I handed her my cash and thanked her before grabbing my food and turning away. "Sorry!" A girl I had never seen before said when we both ran into eachother. "It's okay! Should've watched where I was going." I told her smiling. "I don't go to this school my friend Savannah does and I came with her. There's so many people here." I laughed and nodded my head. Our school has about 600 kids in each grade. "What school do you go to?" I asked her not even knowing her name. I go to Parkview private school." She said. That school is know as having a lot of rich preppy people but she seemed nice. "I'm Isabelle but my friends call me Iz or Izzy, and you?" "Brooke West." "Nice to meet you. I don't mean this to sound rude but doesn't your school have a football game tonight too?" I asked her. "Yeah but our school isn't very good nor are the guys there as good looking as the ones here." She laughed looking around the stadium. "Never seen the guys there but we might have a few good ones." I laughed with her. "Everything okay? You've been gone a while and halftime is almost over." Cameron said walking up to me. "Is this your boyfriend?" Brooke asked looking Cameron up and down. I pointed to Brooke and introduced her to Cameron. "This is Cameron my bestfriend." She smile at him and shook his hand. "Another question then do you have a girlfriend?" She asked glancing between us. "Never had one before. Look my sisters waiting so we've gotta go. Nice to meet you." Cameron said gently grabbing my arm and starting to pull away. "Can I get your snap or something at least?" She begged. I had to admit she at least was persistent. She handed her phone to Cameron and he pulled his account up to follow as well as mine. He handed her phone back and we waved goodbye. "Why did you give her my Instagram? I asked curiously. "She's your new friend I barely know her." He said shrugging his shoulders. I glanced behind me and saw her scrolling through what looked like his Instagram profile. She seemed nice but the thought of Cameron having her as his first girlfriend didn't  sit right with me. "Took you forever halftime ended five minutes ago." Carly said taking the popcorn from me. While Cameron zones back into the game and talked to a few friends in front I told Carly about the girl we just met. "I bumped into some girl named Brooke from Parkview. She seemed nice. And seems to like Cam." I told her while munching on my popcorn. "Yuck. Cameron? What does she look like?" "Probably an inch or two shorter than us, blonde hair, blue eyes. The stereotypical rich private school girl." "Blondes aren't his type." She said shrugging. "How would you know his type he's never dated anyone. He says he's not interested in dating." I told her glancing at her curiously. "Just because he's never dated doesn't mean he doesn't have a type. I know his type and he finally decides to date I know who he's going for." She smiled looking at me. "What does that mean?" I said turning all the way towards her now. She pretended to zip her lips and faced the field continuing to watch. It was a blowout with us winning 42–14. "I'm going to go hangout with some of the cheerleaders at their house so I'll catch you at practice tomorrow." Carly waved goodbye and walked out to her car with the other cheerleaders. Cam and I got into his jeep pulled out of the parking lot. "We should get McDonalds." I said giving my best puppy dog eyes since he was driving. I knew he was a sucker for puppy dog eyes. He sighed and made a quick U-turn. "Can I get the 10 piece nugget meal and the #1 meal both with sprite?" He pulled up to the window and handed the guy his card. "I have practice tomorrow Sunday and Monday so your moms gonna get Callie and Cason that day right?" "Yep, I told her every Monday you can't get them." He grabbed the bags and drinks and we drove back to my house. We sat in my driveway both on our phones laughing and showing eachother funny tik toks and videos. "Alright I'm tired and wanna sleep I'll catch up with you sometime this weekend?" Cameron said basically kicking me out of his car. "Rude but sounds like a plan." I told him before closing his door. I walked inside and watched him speed off. As I was showering I thought about how weird it was that Cameron was on Instagram so much in his car. Not that he isn't on it but he thinks Twitter is better than Instagram. He was probably looking at all of the first football game post.
