Niall's POV

After we got home from London, I thought everything was going to be perfect. I couldn't have been more wrong.

I had started to get a bit of cough while we were in London, but it was nothing to worry about. But when we got home, that night I got a very high fever. Zayn got very scared and called my mum over to help him. The fever broke soon after, but I was left feeling weak and tired. I tried getting sleep but my coughing started to worsen, making sleep a hard thing to achieve.

That's how I ended up now, sweating and shivering from a fever and coughing my lungs up. Zayn had stayed up with me last night, making sure I was okay. He gave me medication for my fevers and put cool cloths against my head. My mum came over and see if I was any better, but I felt like everyday it was getting harder and harder to breath. I felt like I wasn't getting better, but worse.

I had just closed my eyes after having, yet another coughing attack. I was so tired. It was early evening, but not getting sleep at night makes you want to sleep in the day. Even though I really couldn't.

I felt the bed dip down a bit and a hand brush against my sweaty forehead. I kept my eyes closed hoping I could find some sort of sleep, but that was short lived when I started coughing again. Zayn rubbed my back from where he was leaning on the bed, trying to soothe me. This time was worse than any other. I continued to cough until a metallic taste came in my mouth.

"Shit! Niall take a deep breath." Zayn told me, frantically grabbing his phone from his pocket. I tried to do what he told me, but the coughing wouldn't stop and I felt it hard to catch my breath.

"I can't-" I cut myself off with coughing. I wanted to tell him I couldn't breath but it just wouldn't come out.

"Please try! I'm calling the paramedics." He told me. His voice was shaking. I heard him say something in the phone, but couldn't really focus on it because I was trying to catch my breath. More blood came up, splattering on the white bed sheets. I was actually feeling pretty scared at the moment because I had no idea what was happening. The only thing I knew was you weren't supposed to cough up blood.

"I'm hear Niall, their coming." Zayn tried to soothe the fear out of me but, I quickly felt light headed. He scooped me up and ran with me to the front door. He grabbed his keys and opened my car door putting me in. He ran to his side of the car, starting the car with shaky hands. The car jolted across the front lawn and into the street. He sped down the street to the hospital, but kept one hand on my knee rubbing small circles on it. He was muttering something in a different language under his breath.

In the distance I heard sirens over my coughing. He stopped the car parking it in the middle of the road and ran around to get me out of the car. I couldn't even breath, as he held me in his arms.

The ambulance came in sight and stopped in the street. The last thing I saw was looking at Zayn's face that had specks blood on it. I looked into his eyes and saw so much fear in them. He looked down at me and said something that I couldn't catch as darkness closed around my mind.

His brown eyes were the last thing I held onto before breathing became too hard.

Zayn's POV

"I love you." I told Niall. His lips were blue and his eyes were drooping. His eyes closed and the coughing stopped.

"Niall!" I yelled, before one of the paramedic men too him from my arms and rushed him to the back of the ambulance. I ran after them, hopping in the back as they sped off to the hospital.

They started pumping air into his lungs as another person cut off his t-shirt. They listen to his heart with a stethoscope and started yelling to each other. I didn't even know what was going on. I was in shock just sitting there holding Niall's hand, with tears falling down my face. Then the paramedics said something that woke me out of my state of shock.
