Lana Romanoff, a CIA agent in Virginia. The last person somebody expected to be hiding a secret, besides Hank McCoy. The two had something in common: Both born with genetic mutations: One with genius-level intelligence and hands for feet and the other with the ability to control sound waves and manipulate them to her will.

Lana's long red hair was less wild and unruly today, as she was in a meeting. She wore a white, short-sleeved dress shirt, a black pencil skirt and black heels. Her co-worker, Moira MacTaggert, had told her from what she found at the Hellfire club in Las Vegas, that there were other mutants out there. Lana's heart skipped a beat when she discovered this. There were others like her, she knew this. That were more people like her and Hank.

Professor Charles Xavier was a specialist in genetic mutations, and was conducting a presentation to Lana and Moira's bosses, and his sister, Raven, was there.

"The advent of the nuclear age may have accelerated the mutation process. Individuals with extraordinary abilities may already be among us. Thank you very much" Charles finished, switching the projector off, as Lana slightly applauded.

She'd been impressed with Professor Xavier's presentation on genetic mutation, like Moira and Raven.

"MacTaggert, Romanoff, you two really think that some crackpot scientist is gonna make me believe in sparkly dames and vanishing men? You two just brought yourselves a one-way ticket each back to the typing pool. This meeting is over" the Senator replied.

Lana sighed, and shared a sympathetic look with Moira as the two began to stand up to leave, but were stopped by Charles.

"Uh, please sit down, Agent MacTaggert. You too Agent Romanoff" Charles asked, as the two women sat back in their places.

Charles continued "I didn't really expect you to believe me, given that all you could think about during my presentation was what sort of pie they were serving in the commissary. It's apple pecan".

"I haven't been entirely honest with two you, loves, I'm sorry. You see, one of the many spectacular things my mutation allows me to do is that I can read your mind" Charles continued, as Lana looked wide-eyed.

Charles was a mutant? A telepath!  It took every cell in the young Russian woman's body to prevent her from cracking a smile and revealing the truth of her mutation. Charles sent a cheeky wink and a smile her way, as he'd used his mutation to read her mind.

" I've seen this before in a magic show. Are you gonna ask us to think of a number between one and ten now?" Agent Stryker asked as Lana rolled her eyes at her co-worker's idiocy.

Chuckling slightly, Charles responded with "No, Agent Stryker. Although, Or I could ask you about your son, William, who you were thinking about, which is very nice. But I think I'd rather ask you about the Jupiter missiles America are currently placing in Turkey".

"He's a goddamn spy. You two brought a goddamned spy into this facility!" the Senator yelled.

"We did not!" Moira protested.

The Senator, Agent Stryker, Moira and another co-worker began to argue with each other, as Raven stood up, suddenly morphing into Agent Stryker and Lana outstretched her palm and white energy pulsed from her hand, sending the pencil pot on the table to the floor. Everybody was shocked, except Lana and Charles. Soon afterward, Raven morphed back into her clothes, but her skin was a mesmerizing blue, her eyes an incredible yellow and her hair a striking orange. Raven and Lana exchanged a brief smile between the pair, as Lana's eyes flooded to their unusual white.

"How are those for magic tricks?" Charles questioned, as Agent Stryker remained quiet.
