Part Seven: Hank McCoy

1962. CIA Covert Research Base. Langley, Virginia.

Svet's POV.

Moira's car pulled up outside the main entrance of the CIA base we worked at, as we all clambered out of her car and walked into the main entrance.

"Welcome to my facility. My mission has been to investigate the application of paranormal powers in military defense" Levene introduced, a giddy smile on his face.

"Or offense" Erik darkly replied as Charles and I sent a glare his way.

"This guy Shaw, Schmidt, whatever you want to call him-- he's working with the Russians. We might need your help to stop him" Levene continued.

"Oi, I'm Russian. Watch it" I warned, as Levene gulped in slight fear, as of him learning about my mutation, whilst my ginger locks swung side to side in the ponytail I wore it up in.

" Marvelous. So we are to be the CIA's new mutant division, yes?" Charles asked.

"Something like that" Levene shrugged.

Small time skip

Svet's POV

We all stood looking at Hank's plane he'd built. Hank's the closest thing I've had to a brother, so we got along well. Hank was a genius, and one of my best friends, and a bad-ass guy.

" It's, uh, supersonic. The most advanced plane ever built. You should see it in real life. It's incredible" Hank commented.

"Hank, these are the special new recruits I was telling you about" Levene added, as Hank sent a wave my way, with me returning it. "This is Hank McCoy, one of our talented young researchers" Levene continued to Erik, Raven and Charles.

Charles began to stride forward, an excited grin on his face " How wonderful. Another mutant already here" he grins, shaking Hank's hand, as Hank looked over at me.

"I didn't tell anybody " I mouthed, as Hank nodded in response.

Charles turned back to Levene and asked "Why didn't you say?".

Levene stared blankly at Charles, and responded with "Say what?".

Charles sighed, a look of remorse washing over his face. "Because you don't know", the realization struck Charles like a truck. He turned back to Hank with "I am so, so terribly sorry".

Levene walked over to Hank and questioned in shock "Hank?"

"You didn't ask, so I didn't tell." Hank simply replied.

Raven asked "So, your mutation is what? You're super smart?".

"I'll say. Hank here graduated Harvard at the age of 15. I watched" I chimed in, with a smile.

"I wish that all it was" Hank sighed, as I sent a toothless smile my way.

"You're among friends now, Hank. You can show off" Charles reassured, as Hank slipped his shoes and socks off, revealing the mutation on his feet, showing his hand-feet.

"Lookin' bad-ass like always Hank" I smiled. "Splendid" Charles said as Raven let loose a smile, I could tell Hank thought she was attractive.

"I'm sorry" Hank apologized after staring at Raven for a few seconds.

Hank jumped up, slightly into a flip, as he landed attached to his plane. His hand-feet gave him extra grip so he could hang upside down on the plane like a bat. We all let out a laugh of amazement. Erik even came to take a closer look, as Raven took a few steps forward to admire Hank's stance up close.

"Your amazing" was all Raven said. Hank chuckled lightly "Really?" he questioned, a grin on his face.

"Of course you are, buddy" I responded.
