Marth's Point of view:

Today is my dear (y/n)'s birthday, and I'm quite nervous. I'm not really sure how to explain it, but I'm just afraid that her birthday won't be good it enough, or that something bad will happen. This year Corrine, Tiki, Robin, and Roy planned all the events, catering, and entertainment. So far they have done a wonderful job, and I know that it will continue this way. Even so I can't quite seam to recall why I'm nervous about today, or is it that I just don't want to remember?

~~~~~~~~~~~FLASHBACK(2 days ago)~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Finally after shopping all day with the girls yesterday, us guys have some rest. If you can call 'setting up for a dinner were your girlfriend is looking at you like a piece of meat' a rest. I let go of a heavy sigh, dreading whats to come in the next few moments. To distract myself I took to looking at the clouds, passing by without a care in the world. Cloud watching was a game I used to play with (y/n) as a kid. I found it fun, but she always said it was boring. I remember one time I pointed out that one of the clouds looked like a dragon and she said,
"Do you ever think the clouds look down at us and say 'Hey! That one looks like an idiot!'"
We both ended up in tears after such a good laugh. She then suggested we go people watching and guess who was dumb, who was smart, who was 'right' morally, and who was a whore in disguise among other things. I was able to talk her out of the idea eventually, but she still asked to play it when ever we were in town. I laughed to myself. Everything used to be so carefree and simple. Why couldn't it stay like that?
"Hey Marth, I'm here." I was interrupted by (c/n), (y/n)'s beloved cousin and the only blood related family member she is willing to trust. "Said there was some thing you wanted to talk to me about?"
"Ah yes actually there is." I said quietly, I needed to stay focused, remember my lines, and believe in myself! I've done much tougher things in the past, this should be a piece of cake!
"So whats up?"
"I wanted to have your permission for something regarding (y/n)." He raised a brow.
"Okay, what for?" I took a deep breath, looked him in the eyes with a blush filled face and said with as much confidence as I could muster,
"I-I-I want your blessing to marry your cousin (y/n)!" He looked at me shocked, and surprised. Then smiled.
"Fine by me. She's all yours." He turned around with a wave and walked off. I stood there stunned for a moment, then chased after him.
"H-hey wait a minute!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FLASHBACK END~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I laughed to myself. I'm still surprised that it was that simple! I though I would of had to proven, myself or argued a little bit, but no.  He was totally fine with it! Fixing my bow tie in the dressing room, had given me some time to think about all this. I know that I'm ready to star the next chapter, I just hope my dear princess is too. Satisfied with my appearance I picked up the black velvet box on the dresser and hid it in my back pocket. Walking out of the room and looked at my silver pocket watch that (y/n) got for my birthday.

'11:50. 20 minutes till the brunch with the barons and such. Then once they leave, we have the party with just us. That's when I'll have to ask her."

I sighed. I can't allow fear to over come me. I need to stay strong!

~~~~~~~Time skip~~~~~~~
As the moonlight dusted over the remnants of our feast, I could hear the the aftermath of the party was still raging on. Robin was dealing cards to Corrin, Ike and I, (c/n) was stuffing his face, all the while Roy and the girls danced the night away. As the cards were passed around so we could play out our game of poker, I watched them dance from afar collecting my thoughts. The butterfly's had finally calmed down in my stomach. I could do this. It will be easy. Theirs nothing to worry about. I picked up the cards that were dealt to me, and held my poker face.
