"What have you decided?" Corrine asked again.
"I-I-I have decided that I....." I whispered the rest in her ear. She looked at me nonchalantly. Then smiled. I'm not sure if it was a smile of understanding, happiness, or a fake smile, but she pulled me into a hug.
"If you think it is the best course of action, and you won't have any regrets about it, then do what your gut tells you, but don't forget to also listen to your heart."
"Thank you Corrine. I really appreciate the counsel."
"Well that's what friends are for right? Anyway every one is worried about you! Marth thought you disappeared again." Corrine told me as we walked out of the restroom. I scoffed.
"Jeez, I mean its sweet and all, but he is going to have to trust me not to run off on him without saying anything." Corrine looked at me sadly.
"But he does have a point." I gave her a look of pain. She knew this decision was not easy for me. When we walked into the main hall of the inn, practically everyone except Marth, and Robin where totally wasted. I laughed and when Marth noticed me he whipped his head around and had a look on his face that he had just heard a goddess speak to him. This just made me laugh even more, and eventually Corrine joined me. for 5 whole minutes we where both on the floor holding our stomachs as Marth just looked at us with the stupidest face and wondered why we where laughing so hard.
"What took you so long (y/n)? Are you sick?" Marth said holding me with concern when we both finally calmed down.
"No, Just needed sometime to think" I said with a smile.
"Heyyyyy (y/n)! What took you so long? your missing out on the partyyy!" Ike yelled as he stumbled over to us.
"Yaaaaa, girl! Your the only one left for the shot competition! Or are you going to chiken out, like the chicken tactician, and your pussy boyfriend haha!" Roy said while falling on his face. Marth just stared him down, I laughed.
"I accept your offer. Who am I challenging?" They both jumped for joy as they lead me to Corrin who was still going strong for being the champ. As I sat down, and prepared for my first shot, Corrin looked at me smugly. Well little does this little shit know, that I can keep down quite a lot of liquor.
~~~~~~~Time skip~~~~~~
About 30 shots later Corrin passes out, while I can still walk in a straight line. Everyone is cheering for me while the sober squad is looking at me shocked. I simply laugh it off as I drink some well earned water. Once I join them Marth takes me by the hand, and leads me to the roof of the inn. He leans me into his chest and I relax enjoying the moment of peace.
"Are you going to stay?" he asked. No response. "Is what you told Corrine true?" No response. He twirled my hair,"You know that I love you right?" No response. "Please say something.." No response. He held me tighter "Anything..." No response. "(y/n)..." No response "Answer me!" No response. he held my shoulders so I could look him in the eye, but I looked down like a coward."Please! I can't live without you!" He cried. Still no response. "Even if you leave, I will never stop looking for you!" I looked up at him.
"Marth, you looking for me is something I will prevent at all costs."
"Huh? Why?"
"Because me leaving, is the only thing that will keep you safe."
"No..."
"Your safety is my first and only priority."
"No..."
"And if I have to leave you for you to be safe, then so be it."
"I said no goddamn it!" The anger in his voice took me off guard. "I'm a grown man, (y/n), you don't have to constantly look after me. But if you want to look after me then it will be by my side in life." He said while hugging me again.
