Today is the last day of my finals for the 1st semester and I'm sprinting down the hallway to reach my classroom. I woke up late and I only have a few seconds left until I get marked as late! I have to hurry hurry hurry!

As I was sprinting, I almost collided with a gray-brownish haired boy who also seemed to be a 3rd year. He was the only person in the hallway and he was entering his classroom. I gave him a small peace sign to say I'm sorry and went straight ahead and I arrived in class just in time! 

I have studied hard for this so I am pretty confident about my test results. Today's subjects are Math and English. I immediately started answering the test when the paper was handed to me. It was quite easy but for some reason I feel a little distracted, my mind is kind of preoccupied with something and I can't tell what. 

Weird... What is this feeling? It's as if I'm longing for something, like I'm dying to find that something. Oh shoot, I have to focus! I don't have much time left, I can't flunk this exam! I admit, answering the test was a piece of cake but something is really bugging me.

Luckily, I was able to finish answering the tests on time. I'm not really worried about the results since I studied very hard, I was worried about this feeling that's been bothering me ever since I started answering the exams... Maybe I was just nervous??

We were finally dismissed when I suddenly received a text from my best friend - Kiyo, or Shimizu Kiyoko. She's been my best friend since grade school and we've been inseparable ever since.  

Kiyo: Hi (your name)! How was the exam?

Me: It was a piece of cake <3

Kiyo: You're pretty confident huh, wanna eat lunch with me at that new ramen resto just beside school? 

Me: Sure, see ya by the gate. 

I fixed my stuff and went straight to the school gate to see Kiyo waiting for me by the exit. I waved at her and gave her a big hug. After that, we went to the resto, place our orders, and took a seat. I have a lot of stuff to tell her!  

I still feel that weird feeling inside me and I don't think it will go away soon. Argh, I hate feeling like this!

"Kiyo-chan! You don't have volleyball club duties today?" I asked her.

"No, I'll start going club works tomorrow." She said

"Okaaaay, I've been feeling weird since this morning!" I said with a small frown.

"What's wrong?" She asked with a worried look on her face.

"When I started taking the exams, my feelings have been bothering me. It's like... I don't know how to explain it but I'm kinda yearning for something and I don't know what. It's like desperation level 1000!" I said, grabbing my hair in frustration.

"I think I know why." She said with a small smile. I gave her a "what-is-it" look.

"I think you've found your soulmate."

"That's crazy! You still believe in that kind of thing?" I asked her with a surprised tone.

I never wanted to believe in soulmate stuff, people should be free to love who they want to love.

"I can't believe that you don't believe in that. There's already a lot of proof that it is true and yet you still don't believe?" She asked.

"People should be free to love anyone who they wanna love. You haven't seen your soulmate yet, right??" 

"Fair point, but your soulmate is destined to be with you for a reason. And yes, I haven't." 

The feeling got stronger and stronger until I can literally feel my heart beating fast.

"It feels so weird, Kiyo-chan! The feeling's getting stronger."

"It means he's getting closer to you then." 

The doors suddenly opened and to my surprise, Kiyo-chan knows them... They might be the volleyball guys. That one guys looks familiar... IT'S THE GUY I ALMOST BUMPED INTO THIS MORNING!

"Daichi-kun, Asahi-kun, Suga-kun!" She said with a wave.

They were surprised to see Kiyo-chan but they returned the wave. She went up to talk to them so she told me to wait for her. After a few chit-chats with them she was wide-eyed and then she looked at me. I gave her a "what?" look. 

She immediately went back to me and held my hand.

"Your soulmate is here." 

"W-what?" I asked as she pulled me close to the 3 men. My feelings were getting stronger in every step that I take closer to them. When I was finally in front of them, it's almost like this feeling is unbearable. She let me sit in front of the guy I met earlier. 

"(your name), meet Sugawara Koushi. Suga-kun, (your name)" She said, dragging Asahi and Daichi to a separate table. 

I am totally unprepared for this! And I wish Kiyo-chan introduced me to the volleyball team earlier so I could've met Sugawara-san earlier! He tried to break the silence.

"So, I didn't expect that you'll show up around this time. That probably explains why I was feeling weird during the exams, I couldn't get you off my mind ever since you passed by this morning." He said with a smile.

"I didn't believe this soulmate thing at first... I hope I wasn't that much of a distraction during the exams." I said with an apologetic smile.

"Don't worry, you were not. It's just... crazy that I met you after 3 years of staying in this school. Why didn't Shimizu-san introduce you to us on our 1st year?"

"I wasn't that much of a sociable person and Kiyo-chan understood that. I'm too shy to face other people and I wasn't very open to friends back then." 

"Are you okay with me? I promise I'll try my best to take care of you. Please call me Koushi." He said sweetly while reaching out for my hand, how cute. I returned the tight grip on his hand.

"Yes, definitely more than okay. Likewise, I will also do my best for you... Soulmate." I said with a smile.

Soulmate... It still sounds so different but I'm very lucky to have Kou as my soulmate. After that day, we started hanging out a lot and we started planning weekly dates. I didn't know Kou could be this romantic! He always lets me come with him to practice and while he's training, I'm doing my schoolwork. I swear he is such a sweetheart.
