Timer - there's a countdown timer on your wrist and once it reaches 0 it means that you've met your soulmate.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just moved in to Tokyo for college and it's very different here compared to the countryside. So many buildings and factories, and there are so many lights! I still have a few weeks before school starts so I decided to use the rest of my time exploring Tokyo to get used to the area.
There's this one cafe that's just 2 blocks away that seems so interesting because of its colorful display of cakes and the menu is so eye-catching! Speaking of cafe, I am craving for coffee so I guess this is the perfect time to go there.
I looked at my wrist to check my soulmate timer, 10:35. I keep on forgetting that I'm gonna meet my soulmate anytime soon. Ever since I moved here, I got so excited because I'm getting closer to my soulmate. I'm also nervous at the same time since I have no clue who my soulmate is!
I have 10 minutes left so it probably means that I'm meeting my soulmate at the cafe or somewhere nearby. I didn't really mind the timer on my wrist ever since I was a child since everyone has it. My mom told me that once I meet my soulmate, the timer would beep inside my head so I don't forget.
It's kinda making me nervous... But excited at the same time.
I was finally at the cafe and to my surprise, there wasn't a lot of people so the line wasn't long. When it was finally my turn to order, I suddenly heard a beeping sound. At first I thought it was one of those buzzing things when you wait for your order but... I guess it was only my head!
But wait! So that means...
I checked my wrist to see the timer and it was exactly 0 and it was blinking fast. I looked at the cashier and he first had a shocked look on his face but it was quickly replaced with a smile.
"What would it be, soulmate?" He asked, looking at me directly in the eyes.
Who knew my soulmate could be this hot?! I AM BLESSED TO HAVE THIS GUY AS MY SOULMATE~ I can feel my cheeks getting red. I shook my head to get out of my thoughts.
"Um uh, what do you recommend?" I asked with a smile.
"I'll make you my best coffee. Iced or not?" He grinned.
"Iced."
"Alright, that would be..." He said as he was inputting it in the cash register. I was about to take my wallet out when he continued.
"Nothing. It's on me, nothing but a free coffee for my soulmate on our first date. I'll be joining you shortly after I make your order. Please just find a seat. Bokuto-san, my shift ends after this order!" He said with a big smile on his face.
THIS GUY! He. Is. So. Sweet. He will literally end his shift just for me?!
"A-alright. If you say so..." I said, feeling the blush on my cheeks and finding a seat.
I found the perfect spot just by the corner. It looks so comfy and the perfect place for... our first date... Yeah... He did say that. I waited for a few minutes until he arrived with two drinks, he sat down on the other side and handed me my iced coffee, I immediately took a sip.
"So... What do you think?" He asked with a smirk.
"Hmmm... Oh wow, it tastes so good!" I happily said.
"Glad you liked it... I'm Akaashi Keiji. Everybody calls me by my last name... But for you, I want you to call me Keiji."
"(Last name) (First name). I'd also like you to call me by my first name." I said.
"Haven't seen you around, are you new here? I wanna know more about you." He said as he reached out to hold my hand. This guy is so bold! I didn't even bother taking it off since I really like him.
"Yeah, I just moved here since I'm gonna study at the nearby university that's not so far away from here."
"What a coincidence, I happen to go there as well... How about we go to school together? Mind letting me know your schedule as well? So I can arrange coffee dates often. I'd even let you taste all my special recipes for free..."
Our conversation went on and on until we got to know more of each other, he even walked me home! We kept on hanging out for the rest of the break, just going out on dates and talking about random stuff. I even had my first kiss with him on our 5th date at the movies!
After a few more weeks, when university life has officially started he actually went to my house to pick me up so we can go there together!
This is just the beginning of my happy life with my soulmate at Tokyo. Ever since our first date, he'd always take me out on dates but my most favorite type is a coffee date because he's so good at making coffee and other sorts of drinks. During break time, he would always bring me coffee just so I could stay awake during the day. Keiji would always make time for me! I thank the gods for blessing me with such a sweet and loving soulmate!
He even introduced me to his teammates in volleyball back when he was in high school, the one who stood out the most to me is their ace, Bokuto-san. We would even cross paths with him whenever we're out on a date.
--EPILOGUE--
Me and Akaashi were studying in the cafe when...
"Hey Hey Hey!" A certain Bokuto yelled out and came to our table.
"Hello, Bokuto-san." Akaashi said while I waved at him.
"I see you two are busy ey? Wanna join us for dinner later? You barely hang out with us anymoreeee" Bokuto said with a pout.
"Hmmm... I have a scheduled date with (nickname) later, but I promise we'll join you next time." He said with a small smile.
"E-Ehhhhh! *sigh* Alright, have fun you two. Must go to work now!" He said as he made his way to the counter, while me and Akaashi had a little laugh.
