This new MehRya story will have shades of many of your favourite stories (online, offline, movies and even fairy tales😁). But ofcourse with my signature twists & turns. Hope you will support me with your reads, votes and comments.

Mehek settled her daughter, Drishti on wheel chair and pushed it towards the gate of home run by nuns for differentially abled children. "Drishti, be a good girl okay?", Mehek smiled at her and the girl lifted her arms to hug Mehek tightly. Mehek felt guilty to leave her 5 year old daughter at an organization similar to an orphanage. But she was helpless. Drishti needed constant care and Mehek has to work to make a living for both of them. Some compromises are inevitable.

"Mehek, how are you?", a middle aged nun inquired her. "I am fine, Mother. Just leaving for work", she replied. "Mehek, I know you are trying hard to make the ends meet. Hope you understand my helplessness when I remind you that Drishti's fee is due", she explained. Mehek was doing double shifts in a restaurant and staying in poor accommodation they offered. It was a shame that she was still running late regarding Drishti's payments. Mehek needed a full time job with decent pay.

"Mother, today I have a job interview

"Mother, today I have a job interview. My previous employers have referred me and gave a good recommendation. If I get this job, I will be able to pay all my dues", Mehek told her. "All the best, Mehek. I will pray that you get this job", Sr Agnus blessed her. Mehek wanted this job but it meant that she will be able to spare time for Drishti only on weekends. Sad truth is that for money you need to Money and for that she needs to work hard.

"So Mehek, I will come straight to the point", Mehek's interviewer didn't beat around the bush. Mehek was sitting before the elegantly dressed Sunaina Sahay who had maintained herself well despite her age. She looked radiant, poised and efficient. Contrary to her, Mehek looked shabby and unattractive even though she was younger. Mehek mused that time and poverty had taken a toll on her while rich still maintained their health and figure. Sunaina didn't seem like a kind figure but Mehek liked her straight forwardness.

Sunaina went on, "I am desperately in need of nanny for my granddaughter. You are referred by Khuranas who are our family friends. I am really impressed with their recommendation". Mehek had worked for them for past 4 years, taking care of their young daughter. They treated her like family but unfortunately their decision to settle in UK became untimely blow in Mehek's life. Khuranas helped Mehek in whichever way possible; either recommending her for new position or giving a lump sum as appreciation. But with time, Mehek's savings ran out and she was still looking for a good job.
