I didn't want to tell him that I didn't want to go home. Of course, I was safer at home than here, but I just needed to feel everything out.
I set my phone in my sweatshirt pocket. Leaning against the bench, I shake my head to try to rid my negative thoughts. It doesn't work. I wish Mingi could've stayed a bit longer, but that's selfish of me to say.
Breath in and out, Yunho.
Standing up, I realize that I had left my sandals down by the shore. No wonder why my feet hurt; I was walking on rocks. There was a lot around the bench I sat at.
"Gosh, what is wrong with me? I feel all fucking giddy from that stupid guy. Agh, let's just go home," I say to myself, slipping on my flip flops and walking back up the path I came.
I reach my house after twenty minutes of walking. I could see the light off, relief spreading through me like a cold shower. I open the door, heading up to my room.
I shut my door quietly, sending a quick message to the stranger that I was home. Plugging in my phone, I change into just my boxers and get under my blankets. My feet still were chilled, but it was fine.
It was times like this where I was grateful for summer. Where I didn't have to worry about waking up early to learn about another world war or some kid trying to buy loads of apples. I could (somewhat) peacefully sit in my room with my speaker on full blast.
Some of my friends had summer jobs. It was Wednesday, so I couldn't hang with them. Others had taken off to different places around the globe. And the last few were like me, who had nothing better to do than sit in their room playing video games. Luckily, those were the ones who I was actually close with.
Taking a deep breath, I roll onto my side to get more comfortable. The wind chimes I had outside of my window slowly clinked together, creating a rhythm that was nice to listen to.
I let my drowsiness take over, my breathing slowing down to a leisurely pace. Hopefully, tomorrow night would be as good as this one.
